For the Official Record

This is a gigantic mistake...... should have learned from DWare....... could have saved almost as much with a simple restructure

He could have been traded at worst....he will sign elsewhere quickly and he will play for 5-6 more years like ABoldin

This move doesn't appear to be about cap savings. They wanted him gone, which is fine if it's deemed better for team chemistry.

But a smart team would've kept the dissension in house and traded the player. Once the Jones boys started talking publicly there was no reason for anyone to offer Dallas anything. They boxed themselves in and made today inevitable.

ozawale for smith.
Again you are no where near the point

He was listing all these reasons why trades don't happen and I was pointing out that there have been a whole mess of trades throughout the League this year...... just not leaving Dallas

And you responded with some non-sense about our FBs..... who weren't even traded for each other

But carry on

because there were no trades this offseason????????

wake up dude
there were trades this off season. yes, for Brandon cook. 25. had 2 100 yard back to back seasons.
Jarvis landry has produced and was on verge of another 1000 yard season if they didn't lose their QB.

both very young.

there wasn't any trades for any player, over 30, with bloated contract (13 mil) and history of injury and average production.

I think its you who needs to wake up. nobody would trade for Dez. if they would have, why didn't I happen? oh, I guess you were talking to Jerry and Stephen all along on your personal secret number and you know they didn't try!!! aha

would you if he was on another team?

My statement on this is Dak needs to have 4500 yards over 25tds and under 10 ints for 2018. Then I'll jump on board with the Dez sucks bandwagon.

LOL.....huh, what , come again?

Dak have 4500 yrds 25 TD and under 10 int for 2018 hmmmm ok and Donkey's can fly i guess.....lol...if he has half of these stats booked in 2018 consider us lucky!

Sarcasm: I bet Hurns "took less" to sign with Dallas because the Boys told him they were cutting Dez and he'd have a prominent role in their offense

He wasn’t asked to take a pay cut so this wasn’t just about money.
So you tell me what the underlying factor was that drove Jerry (a man that I guarantee you loved those #88 jersey sales) to cut him with no clear cut replacement on the team.

In “how would have social media reacted to this if it was around back in the day” here is Troy Aikman on being frustrated with his Cowboys teammates and Barry Switzer. https://t.co/VjrS4mHcHY

Do you remember that drive where Tony came in at the end of the year in 2016 and went down the field without breaking a sweat throwing all over the place and deep? Other WR's are other WR's who never had the production DEZ had as all time TD reveiver! Dak can't hold Romo's jock strap so we will just see how Dez performs somewhere else before we know the whole story. My guess is that he is a great match for Russell Wilson. I would not be surprised if he ended up there.

Seattle is “imploding”.. Dez shouldn’t go into that iffy situation with so many questions..

Well, he was cut so we could concentrate on the future. I don't think going forward Dez was worth the contract, for us at least.

Now, we could extend Martin, sign Lawrence, and sign Irving with plenty of left over next year if we really wanted to do it.

And I like Dez. Just don't think he was worth the hit going forward. He's going to be 30 during the league season, and while I expect him to continue to be productive, his prime is probably past him. Get a young guy with talent, concentrate on the OL and defense, and if we truly need a total #1, get one next year in FA or the draft.

why would anybody trade for him knowing we were going to release him???
There was no way he was going to take a pay cut and there was no way Dallas would let him stay with a $16.5M cap hit. He will sign quickly and will be somebody else's problem now.

Dez stated that he WOULD'VE accepted a pay cut, but the Cowboys didn't want that.
Whether he was telling the truth I don't know, but I saw him state that in one of those youtube interviews.
