I don't think that word means what you think it meansHe's been a liability last couple of years. Cutting liabilities is a mistake only if you live in bizarro land

Dak's 5 best games in 2016 were all with DezDid anyone notice how well we lived the ball when Dez was injured?
How were Dez stats in those games. Was he used as a decoy allowing Dak to spread the ball? I wasn’t for us cutting Dez this year but we will be fine without him. Its a adjustment we were going to have to make soon anyways.Dak's 5 best games in 2016 were all with Dez
In fact his 8 best games in his career were with Dez

This is a gigantic mistake...... should have learned from DWare....... could have saved almost as much with a simple restructure
He could have been traded at worst....he will sign elsewhere quickly and he will play for 5-6 more years like ABoldin

Dez had good stats in a couple of games but it was on limited targets. It meant that the offense maintained the spread it around aspect without Dez and added him to the mix. Compared to 2017 where we forced him the ball. How were Dez stats in those games. Was he used as a decoy allowing Dak to spread the ball? blah blah blah....say nothingTypical fan wannabe GM comment. Their only 2 go to's are restructure contracts which almost always adds more dead money down the road or trades with the exception of this off season is a rare happening. Just how many teams were lining up to offer ANYTHING for a receiver who's numbers have slid as low as Bryant's the past couple of seasons, who has developed a bad case of dropsy and had more drops the past 2 season than any other receiver in the league, who has also picked up some fumblitist, who has thrown childish temper tantrums on the field and sidelines and who has 25 mil left on the last 2 years of his contract?
Here's the difference between Ware and Bryant. Ware was released due to fears of missing more games than playing because of injuries. Bryant was released because of drop in play and production. When Ware played he still produced at a high level, Bryant playing level just got worse and worse.
.
Any catches Bryant made in any game helped Prescott's numbers but of the best games for Prescott did any other receivers have any receptions? Here's a couple of quick stats for you. In 2016 Bryant had only 3 games of 100 yards or more and in 2017 he had ZERO, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, but he did lead the league in DROPS. Now he and T.O. have something more in common - they both have lead the league in drops.
.
Perfect. Dez didn't get 1,000 yards in the past 3 seasons. Win-win.It’s a huge mistake when you cut your best receiver and replace them with two receivers who didn’t even combine for 1000 yards last season.

His production isn't impossible to replace and what players do on other teams doesn't necessarily mean the same in Dallas. The past two seasons Dez had more catches, yards and TDs than Hurns and Thompson combined. Sorry but that’s not a win-win.

If the on and off the field, sideline and social media drama go away, I'd say that's a step in the right direction.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.
7 TDs a year can be replaced and it's not a concerning matter. We still have the draft. And even if the 2 can't do what Dez did, the offense as a whole will pick up the slack if they're healthy. Dez and his man-child antics overshadow anything he's done the last 3 seasons. What Dez does especially in the redzone on fades and jump balls can’t be replaced. He’s scored 14 TDs the past two seasons, those are going to be hard to replace. While Dez was putting up 14 TDs the past two seasons with a young QB, Hurns and Thompson combined for only 7 TDs. There’s no guarantees either one of those receivers are going to fit in and have chemistry with Dak. The Cowboys wanted to get rid of sideline drama when they cut TO after the 08 season. Had Miles Austin not emerged in 09 that season would have gone nowhere. The Cowboys are banking on Hurns or someone else to step up and have a Miles Austin type season. When Austin’s production began to decline after the 09 season the Cowboys ended up missing the playoffs the next four straight years. Cutting TO didn’t make the team.
You don’t get a better cutting talented players and replacing them with less talented players. There’s not a receiver on the team that’s going to put fear in anyone so every week the Cowboys will see eight in the box to stop Zeke and force Dak and this average receiving corp to beat them. We better hope we come up a receiver in the draft that develops into a dynamic receiver. Despite Dez’s declining numbers he was an exciting player who brought energy to the team and the fans. Cutting Ware was a mistake and cutting Dez could turn out to be an even bigger mistake.

I don't care about how exciting he was throwing up his branded X. If the staff collectively decided to cut him then he wasn't worth the headache making No. 1 WR money and not producing like one.
To me it;s more a matter of how the entire offense is health wise and getting sufficient depth if a player is out.Our baseline is 40 touchdowns and 22 field goals. That's what we need to exceed last year's performance which included Dez's production.
