Whoever wins the next Kiss My Arse competition from Jerry Jones will be the next coach ........ Will McClay has only not been the coach because he chooses not to be.

My top picks

** Belichick
** Arron Glenn
** Vrabel

Wildcard........Bill Callhan
Don't laugh, no coach knows the trenches as well as this guy. He's the Andy Reid, Shanahan or Belichick of OLine coaches. Want a coach to fix the run on both sides of the ball, this is your guy.

The Dallas Cowboys still have at least 11 games left in their 2024 season. The mood, however, is pretty grim as the club exits their bye week. Sitting at 3-3, the club will return to the safety of the road for their next contest, a remarkable turnabout from how things have been the last two seasons. Somehow, the pressure of being at home has become too much for the organization, falling woefully behind in four contests (dating back to the wild-card game) and only making one of them competitive.

Honorable Mentions:

Dan Pritchard, Cincinnati Bengals OC
Ryan Grubb, Seattle Seahawks OC
Adam Stenovich, Green Bay Packers OC
Ejiro Evero, Carolina Panthers, DC

I'd be happy with any of the top 3. I'd also like Ben Johnson

No a lot we disagree on but we are on opposite sides of the lake here. I have no trust in Ben......as stated before, that offense is loaded with high draft picks or talent. It is easy for an OC to shine with so many pieces.....hell, look how good Klingsbury and Kellen Moore are now.
I agree but a few things.

A offense needs good personnel to work.
Are these great players though? Great talent sure but let’s remember St Brown was a later round guy….La Porta went after Mayer and Kincaid. Gibbs was a first rounder but everyone knocked them for taking them that high. In comparison I’d say Eagles have more talent but their offense doesn’t look nearly as good.

I will agree it's one thing to have great talent but you have to fit all pieces in the right place or to their strength. He is doing a good job of that, give him credit but just not enough skin on the wall for me, especially to address the biggest problem, culture.

IMO we need a guy strong and confident enough to keep players grounded REGARDLESS of contracts AND Jerry. Not afraid to challenge leaders for not doing their jobs. In other words, can you see Ben Johnson calling Parsons or Lamb out after a bad game or practice? I can't but Belichick or Vrabel would have no problem IMO.

Ben Johnson.
Im just not on Bill and just cant see Jerry wanting to give up control It would also mean will would go
I love Ben Johnson. But he would be sadly wasted here in Dallas. Jerry and Stephen would undercut his authority at every turn, neutering him. It'd be the same thing as we have now. New concepts with the same rulebook. Jerry Rules.
We need a Jerry rule breaker, someone that can at least stand up to him and tell him to back off. There are no 1st time coaches that will do that.

I don’t think anyone who’d challenge Jerry would actually hire someone like that.

It doesn’t matter at this point. Bellichick is the only one who might get less interference from Jerry and little anus. Anyone else will just be more of the same.

I wouldn't be upset at the idea of Callahan. He set up our oline well and I believe they slowly got worse after he left. That said, I don't know he can have the same impact as HC. Also, if memory serves I think Jerry burned that bridge.
Yeah, pretty sure Callahan left here on poor terms.

I would hire Mike Vrabel as Head Coach and bring in Ben Johnson as Asst. Head Coach/O-Coordinator...if that were possible. Keep Al Harris as co-D-Coordinator/D-Backs and Lunda Wells as TEs Coach as well.

Cowboys need tough, aggressive and scheming coaches on this team.

def minded, tough minded guy who will infuse some much needed steel into these spines.

wild-card...
☆brian flores
Flores would be an excellent choice, but for his own sake I hope he doesn’t come here under the rule of an 82 year old narcissist who fancies himself a “football guy” who wants to call every shot.

I think Flores could actually change the culture but Jerry would never let him. He won’t even get an interview.

It’ll be one guy to satisfy the Rooney Rule, which they will make a joke of yet again, then whoever sells Jerry on some football speak that he didn’t understand. Pretty sure Rex Ryan already did that. Get ready.

This ^^^^^ forgot about Flores
He reminds me a lot of Tomlin and no, not coz his skin color. A serious guy always shooting from the hip.....players respect that.

There’s only one thing for certain….it’ll be someone who no one else is looking to hire.

Not trying to be funny. Why would someone work as HC in Dallas?

-Authority clipped from beginning
-Constantly undermined by Jerry
-FO doesn’t sign key players
-Jerry wants to be told about game plans
-Players have direct line to Jerry
-Jerry will give halftime speech if he wants
-Media to Jerry for comments before you
-Can’t pick your entire staff
-It’s about entertainment, not football
-You’re eventually scapegoated
-Practice disturbed by helicopter landing
-Practice disturbed by fan tours

What am I forgetting? No one with options will come here. The hire will be someone who no one else would bother with. He can’t get away Zimmer, so…Rex Ryan is the guy. That’ll make some headlines for a while, and Jerry will take that grab.
Well said. Excellent post.
