There is no time table. WG will start on it sometime after the change period ends on Wednesday, but it will be as WG has time and it could take days or longer for all names to be changed.

I am sure this was answered earlier, but... If you are following someone on the old user name, will the new name automatically pick this up?

Will there be some form of a universal translator for us to cross-reference new name with old?

Everything will transfer with the username change.

We are looking at a couple of ways to handle this, but have not decided yet.

Allowing username changes was NOT made to allow users to hide from their reputations so we will definitely provide some sort of way to identify users going forward.

The purpose of allowing this username change is because CowboysZone has been online for so long, many reasons why usernames were originally chosen are no longer relevant or important to users, so this allows them to update their username to better fit their current interests and preferences.

In the past, only users whose names were affiliated with the team, player, or coach could request a name change. Due to all the recent changes with the site, CZ is allowing ALL users the opportunity to request a name change.

Beginning today until next Wednesday morning, users can post their request in the following thread in the Members Zone. Do NOT PM me your request. It will be ignored. Any requests in THIS thread will be deleted.

Usernames must fall within the CZ guidelines and the staff reserves the right to reject any requested name change.

During this time, it is suggested that users update their email addresses. The process to validate user access to an account because of a bad email is tedious and long.

After the week is up, then I will begin going through the requests and will contact the user to confirm the name change.
