Dak appreciation thread **merged**

I thought Dak looked noticeably better than last week. It may be too early to say definitively one way or the other, but he's moving in the right direction and WAY ahead of the curve.
Look at what the Giant's did to Brees.... they have a top defense. Dak was good lack week.. just against a top defense....

Even if Dak wins out until Romo comes back, Romo starts when he's ready. The good thing in that is that the pressure to rush Romo back won't be there. This is still Romo's team. Now next year? That's when things will get interested.
Also the pressure to sell the farm in the draft is evaporating! Looking more and more like they have there guy after Tonys time is up...be it after this year or after 2017 or 18. The pressure is going away.

Spend all those premium pick and extra cash on defense!

Great game. The biggest thing is that he isn't panicked in certain situations.

Prescott's on pace to start 16 games and throw 0 TD passes on the season.

I am embarrassed when he takes the field.

For those who don't know Dak's background, he wasn't a highly sought-after prospect. He was a three-star recruit who got a last second offer from LSU, but decided to stick to his commitment. Every year in college, he got better and thrived as a dual-threat QB. His last year, he realized that if he wanted to be a legitimate NFL prospect, he would to run less and throw more accurately. Well, that's exactly what he did: his Senior year, he ran for 300 fewer yards, but raised his completion rate from 61% to 66%.

What's my point? Well, Dak is the type of guy who is going to listen to criticism and make considered changes. Last week, he was criticized for not get Dez this ball; this week, he got Dez the ball, but never forced it.

That's his best attribute -- his ability to assess his weaknesses and make the appropriate changes without panicking. It's a trait that he carries from the off-season and into the fourth quarter.

Really? That's surprising for some reason

Not really, most teams don't want their rookie QBs throwing the ball over 30 times. So if a rookie is in a good position he's throwing less than that, and likely to not throw the picks. When a rookie has to throw it 30 or more times the odds are he's being forced to do so, and most rookies don't have Dak's poise.

I love everything about Dak. I just want the gameplan to include some deepthrows to take the lid off the defense.
If we had a receiver that could get deep on those rare occasions when our oline protects him.. he would.

Check out this insane fact!

If Dak can throw 8 more passes without an INT then he will be only the 2nd player in NFL history to throw his first career 83 passes without an INT.

The other is Tom Brady.

You just jinx him.
