Rarely do players skip camp unless there is a reason for it. I can't see the choice of a player to do that as a good thing. Can he still be ready to go by Game 1 if he skips camp? Most likely, although it seems that a lot of the time players are more prone to injuries like pulled hamstrings when they miss the day-to-day of camp, but they can also get injured in camp, so maybe that's a wash.

OTAs are different. Not much is really done in them, especially under the current CBA, and they are more for younger players so if you are a veteran working hard on your own, I can see why you might not prioritize them.
The reason is to posture, they would skip camp to make Jerry think they're serious Andrew not risk an injury if they feel that they don't need anything but a week again Chris Jones with the Kansas City Chiefs I believe he didn't practice or go to any training camp in a week before the season started they caved and gave him his money I'm pretty sure he looked pretty good throughout the year... I'm saying I'm not gonna worry about it until they're not here for game one that would make me worry a lot so a week before game one we hear they're probably not gonna play because they literally are truly holding out which would mean missing games not missing training camp holding out would mean not playing a real game... all this posturing for a new contract and trying to limit risk does make sense so yeah it's them staring down the front office but I don't believe they're going to miss any games regardless if they show up for camp or not...

On the other view of that for me is I believe within the coming weeks lamb is going to get paid because their true markets been set there's no reason for lamb to hold back anymore there's no reason for the front office to drag their feet anymore because now they know what the real market is for a receiver in Justin jefferson's class which is CD Lam and jamar chase and you even have tyree kill begging for more money in a new deal I mean it's it's done the market set now there's a base foundation for starting real negotiations and I think it can happen within the next two weeks, the only true hold up that can go in these negotiations now would be lamb and his agents feeling like he's worth way more millions than Justin Jefferson and that would be untrue they're virtually got the same stats over the same time frame... I mean this should get done easily at both sides looked at this as OK let's start with his contract that Justin Jefferson just started and let's just bump the guaranteed money 5 million or make it a bit bigger bonus or something it shouldn't be that different this shouldn't have to be that difficult now unless lamb and his agents are trying to get like way more and in my opinion in that case I would start asking what teams does he wanna be traded to because you're not giving him any money that's insane outside of the true market...

YES of course players can be ready..

I mean they're in great shape already they practice with like coaches and specialized training on the side and by the way I mean how is it any different than once you get into the year and you're almost never practicing and you have guys like tyron Smith that don't practice at all just sits on the sideline all year and somehow he shows up people are upset he's gone this is not our dad's old NFL these guys are mostly in great shape not all of them the city lamb I've never seen the man with an ounce of fat on him guys like Michael Parsons is much as they're working out and doing things all throughout the year no This is why here let me explain something to you from my view

how is it guys can miss time hurt it's still coming in and be ready but here's the ohh there's side of that coin most of them don't play preseason and even with camp we always hear this the first half of the first game or the first couple games of the season guys are getting in game shape you cannot replicate playing 60 minutes of real football live going at it 100% but guys banging on you because they don't do that anymore in training camp they barely do it in practices most of this **** are softball walkthroughs..

So again the answer is yes I believe a guy like lamb or Parsons could literally miss all of camp and be ready for game one just like most it would take a while to get into that shape where you're not sucking wind in the third and fourth quarters I I'm hearing that goes on with most players nobody is in football game shape because of training camp these guys work out all the time they work out on the side I mean they work out I mean hell Prescott's got his own half field in his backyard...
