Dak doesn't think Cowboys need a No. 1 receiver

If Zeke plays out the entire season and the offensive line remains healthy, Dak will have a solid season. If the WRs show up, he will have a spectacular season. If the defense keeps our opponent's offense off the field, we will have a run deep into the playoffs. Unfortunately that's a lot of "ifs".
Could you get this memo about the D to Jerry? Maybe mention to him the function of a NT and S?

Several!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't remember Phil the man on his butt Costa?
Of course I do he's a jersey kid. Still was never as bad as chaz green and byron bell in one game. If you guys are gonna ride this romo with no line thing you have to do the same with Dak where he was sacked 22 times in the last 8 games last year. And at the end of the day everyone in the NFL saw how bad our receiving corp was last year. Just like when we spent all those resources in the secondary. We didn't do that because the D line wasn't playing well.

Well we see differently, alot of people say Dak had a down year compared to his rookie season but i see more blaming the WR's than i do Dak and in my opinion he is as much at fault for what happenned last season as the WR group is
I guess that's why our #1 receiver and #2 receiver no other team in the league wants. Or that we totally revamped our WR corp. Nope definitely on Dak and our wr's are really good. Fact is our WR group was worst in the league that includes TE.

I think that both Dak and Romo had times of bad olines. However, those situations are in the past. I'm looking forward to the future of this team. I think our oline will be MUCH better. T. Smith, Connor Williams, Frederick, Martin, and Collins is a great lineup for the oline. So, I think the oline problems are fixed, at least for this year. If we can get Martin's deal done, then I think our oline should be set for a long time of bludgeoning defenses.

Oooooh, but he was. Might have been worse. Costa was the reason we drafted Frederick. Caused extreme pressure up the middle and got Romo killed on a regular basis. For some reason, the fanbase glorified him. He might be the worst OL we've ever had start/play. I mean, this cat was awful. Go watch some tape of him around 2011. He simply lacked the core strength to hold up, and Romo paid mightily for it.

X a gadzillion.

I'm not interested in the Dak vs WR's blame game anymore, it's all been hashed and rehashed to a sickening point, and Dak definitely has some to work on. However, how do people who want to blame it all on Dak not even notice that when TWill and now Dez were FA's, there's almost no interest? It's almost like the general fan just can't get past blaming everything on the QB because they're simply not capable of any indepth analyses.

That was his 2nd year after he was a UDFA. And he was only starting because I believe someone got injured in preseason. He played better in 2012 then not so great in 13. He was a trainwreck in 2011 because again our front office is very short sighted and assumes no one will get injured.

This line of argument that Romo wouldn't have allowed these things to happen is ridiculous. In Romo's sophomore year he wouldn't have done jack **** except run for his life. As I say this keep in mind that Romo is one of my two favorite players of all time.

Stop measuring year 2 Dak against the full career of Romo and everything he eventually displayed.

True outstanding nt's are even more rare than #1 wr's . 7-8 wr's . 4-5 nt's . Nice to dream about but hard to find.

days of a #1 are over. This gives me hope.
ya, Watkins and Evans ended that era for most teams, and Dak just wants receiving options... yes I said options,,, to be where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be. No more disobedient lazy route running.
If Dak gets dedicated route runners, it will be amazing watching the media all of a sudden proclaim Dallas now runs a timing based passing offense...lol
cant make this stuff up.

it's extraordinary because we have 6-7 JAGS? I don't call that extraordinary depth.
Your missing the point,,, but most fans are, study, and find what all these jags have in common, the one trait.
The one trait that makes Dak happy now.
I want my franchise QB happy, and that's the environment that has been created, so from the outside looking in,, Im happy as a fan that my franchise QB is happy now.
This roster now has a lot of … as you say "JAGS', that all share a common trait,,,
just asking ,,, please try and identify that.

Despite their recently premature criticisms, the Dallas WRs will either prove themselves or they won't. Those criticizing them likely aren't fortune tellers nor are they prone to sitting back and allowing them time to prove themselves worthy of praise before shooting off their mouths and/or their computers.

I'd enjoy nothing better than to see our WR newbies make them eat crow and in fact, I'm counting on it. This is a new and different year from the ones we've seen in the past. It's their big chance to show the world what they're capable of and I'm hoping they do exactly that. Go get 'em newbies! :D

Overall, he was terrible. Problem was, he simply lacked the core strength, so anytime he played against someone w/ brute strength, he got owned. And that was never going away. Chaz Green has been his equal.

Hurns isn't known for his route running. Beasley is bc of his limitations as a niche slot receiver that teams have learned to cover. Gallup is the one that fits that trait but he's a rookie 3rd rounder, but don't see it otherwise either. I'm supportive of Dak for this season but alo see he doesn't like to take chances down the field and has erratic accuracy. It just seems convenient the narrative has changed and forget we were willing to go big on Watkins.

Thanks, bloke, for expressing such disgust for the posters here.
I always thought there was something special about you, mate!

Haha I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but I generally enjoy this place and a lot of the posters here have great takes. Almost all of us are prone to hyperbole though, including myself and you. Still a good time and a good community.
