Dak from a clean pocket last night via PFF

Some people just are bitter about the Romo situation and projecting on Dak. unfortunate. we rideor die with our commander on the field whoever it is. bipolar fickle switching of the hardest position to play in the game after one loss after going 11 straight wins inn a row is the definition of premature. silly talk. especially since it's not all on Dak and everyone knows it. just projecting. basic psychology stuff.

Or we disagree on who we feel gives us the best shot to win a SB this year but no...let's make it about a crazy psychological theory instead

They must have a pretty liberal definition of a clean pocket.....even the Play action fakes got big pressure

Dak was holding the ball way too long last night, and that's why there appeared to be a lot of pressure on him throughout the game. Whether that was him not seeing the field well, the receivers not getting open, or some combination of the two, I don't know. But the line wasn't the problem for the most part.

I noticed his failures in the pocket. He would repeatedly exit a clean pocket to allow for QB pressure into an arid throw. Yesterday was a really ugly performance from Dak. For those citing the man coverage-- then Dak should have had space to use his legs to run.
6 rushes for 37 yards vs. Vikings...1 rush for 1 yard vs. Giants.

Disagree with both.

They both just need to get together one on one after practice and spend some good ol time same paging.

Yes, I'm sure Dak isn't on the page where his star receiver falls down, doesn't fight for deep balls, and fumbles away his only catch of the night. You're definitely right about that.

U can disagree that's fine but switching talk this soon is silly. at least wait untill Tampa. I understand than. 1 loss really? Iike Romo never had a loss. Dak doesn't have that luxury huh? and a rookie at that. put it in perspective. it's irrational and premature. forest from the trees. good thing coaching staff isn't thinking like bipolar fans. basic psychology isn't crazy. it's pretty standard.

U take everything that happened in that game. things were going on beyond Dak that he couldn't help. it's silly to out it all on him. sure if it's all his fault and it's obvious okay cool understood. but put everything in context u can clearly see its not all him.

Just from watching on tv it's hard to really see everything but looked like receivers weren't getting much separation. They have a good secondary and they were even able to stick with Beasley which is hard to do. There may have been receivers open Dak didn't see but we shall see as some guys break things down but just from the couch didn't seem like pressure was the biggest issue. More like not seeing the open guy or no open guy

I'm not even blaming the OL.......they were bringing more than we could block......they would show on one side and drop back and bring the corner or safety from the other....the pressure was very sophisticated and that is what threw Dak off

It's not the W or L's, it's how Dak's play has been deteriorating the last month. What if Dak comes out and puts up ANOTHER stinker vs. Tampa? Those playoff teams won't have cupcake defenses. I don't think it's irrational or far-fetched at all to feel Romo gives us the best option at combating teams who try to stack the box against us.

From a clean pocket...yea that's not gonna get it done in the playoffs. Who really thinks Romo wouldn't have done better under the same clean pockets in that game?
No question. Dak was off last night to put it gently. I think Romo is about as good as anyone in the league at diagnosing the blitz and getting his guys in position to make plays. For that reason I think the pro Romo crowd has an excellent point. I also think Dak didn't get much help last night either. Give Dak a shot to redeem himself, but if the TB game isn't significantly better Jason Garrett has a tough decision to make.

Well I do know Dez did one helluva disappearing act. Right up there with whodini as one of the most visually stunning disappearing acts in modern history.
It's more likely the qb didn't put it all together than the wr stopped being bigger and faster than most every guy he opposes . The qb has the harder job

What a joke!

Please don't mistake my response for defense of Dez. That would be a grace miscalculation. I'm probably twice as pissed off at him as you are. But if we are to go deep into the playoffs, Dez and Dak are going to have to figure out how to connect regularly.

It's premature now. give it till after Tampa than understood. especially since that loss wasn't all on Dak in hindsight. if it was than u have a good point.

11wins in a row. Romo never did that and he knows the playback better than dak and reads defenses better.

The QB is a rookie. Occasionally he's going to look the part. The WR is a seasoned vet #1 stud that has no right to disappear in games like last night.

Will have to wait for the film to see what the receivers were doing, but on the surface, that's some ugly numbers.

Maybe it's because he was out drinking champagne with Zeke last week. I'm being sarcastic, of course.

11 wins as a team. And for what it's worth (im 26), the last 20 years I feel this is the best overall TEAM we've had. No way to know how Romo would do with this team UNLESS WE PLAY HIM. At least give him a test run before the regular season ends would be a prudent move.

Collingsworth repeatedly praised the protection despite blitzes. And he was correct. Dak failed to step up in the pocket on a number of occasions, making his life more difficult.

If a quarterback holds the ball at a certain point protection will break down.

Fixed it for you. And fortunately, Romo is so good, he's already got chemistry with Dez. Not because of anything Dez has done, mind you -- he's the same dumb and sloppy route runner, incapable of playing within the complexities of the system, that he's always been. Romo has always propped him up and made him look better than he is.
