I would rather ‘pay the price’ now and give myself an out two years from now rather than digging the hole even deeper.
I agree with you. Zero chance I give Dak another contract paying im 45M a year if I was the GM. The way I see it, you can get something similar to him at a rookie deal.

:hammer:

And it’s time to start learning our lesson and becoming cap smarter. The two people responsible for making these deals need to do a much better job. The true ‘blame’ in these circumstances lies with them.

Yes, but the higher the guaranteed amount, the longer the team is locked in to the deal.
The higher the guaranteed to more the cost certainly and the longer till it’s affordable to move on or a higher cost when you do. Players want guaranteed money because they don’t have any other guarantees at all. Can’t really blame them. A HC gets a guaranteed contract but players don’t so they have little reason to not want as much as possible guanteed
Players would, in many cases sign for a lower cobtract if it was guaranteed they actually got paid all the money

"Dak's contract will be a bargain in three years".

I laughed when that was initially being put forth by the Prescott propaganda pushers, and I'm laughing now.
When it looks like other than Mahomes no paid QB is getting there with "JAGS" for lack of a better term obviously KC has good players, but the point is you will see Hurts, Jones, Burrow, Hebert, Jackson, Maybe TUa, Carr, Trevor, all get paid the same or more in the next 2 years and half will be this year. Bargain is probably not the word but market price fits pretty well at that point.

Well in a 19-12 game which saw Dak's 2 INT's as the difference in a win or loss I would think 0 turnovers by Purdy meant a lot.
So if he scored 4 touchdowns and two picks they would’ve lost?

But he didn't score 4 touchdowns. He did, however, have two picks. One directly led to points while the other occurred in the red zone. 19-12, ball game.

Imagining touchdowns he didn't produce doesn't change what actually happened.

You’re missing the discussion. He implied that we lost to Purdy and the guy had zero touchdowns. It was a little more than Purdy. If Dak would’ve threw better and played better Purdys game wouldn’t have been enough to win. You guys are so anti Dak that you can’t even tell when someone isn’t defending him….

...but Dak DIDN'T play better....his INT's cost Dallas the game....end of story.

You obviously don’t understand the nfl if you think that is going to be Dak’s cap hit next season
You are Correct Sir!

Dak Haters DO NOT understand the NFL nor NFL Leadership Culture......

It's the downstream effects of giving Dak Haters generation trophies for participation

That's what happens when your contract is backloaded. Nothing to see here.

Dak made less than 20 million his first 2 years of his contract.

Just be glade with didn't do a Deshaun Watson type deal where he got 250 million fully guaranteed.

The only one that received a participation trophy is Dak in the form of a $160M contract seeing as how he has not done s--t.

Seems to me there where 31 QB's who miseed the mark and alot who missed the playoffs...when Herbert gets paid will you list me off his huge list of accomplishments? How did Russ "Cook" this year? what about Rodgers are we going to talk about his season 11 years ago now? Again there is a market, you dont have to like it but it includes way more QB's than just Dak.....
