I would think they would absolutely want him to get live action to get himself ready for the season. So missing the first preseason game is one thing, but if this stretches into a couple and him still not practicing, that would raise big red flags.

It's not even the not playing in the game that has me intrigued. It's the fact that they felt the need to come out today and say they are going to be even more conservative with him. Given the franchise's bad track record of reporting/covering up injuries, the fact they felt they had to say this today tells me that there may be more concern here than they are letting on.

The Dak homers next excuse will be he didn’t get enough playing time in preseason. Hold on….they have built in excuses for the great one every time he stumbles.

I do expect Dak will play in pre season games, but Dallas normally has not started the starting QB in the 1st pre season game. HOF game will see few starters on either team. I do think the 2nd to last pre season game is where teams use it for a dress rehearsal giving starters ample playing time before shutting them down in the last pre season game. For the most part pre season is for guys trying to make the team, it is for rookies to be in game situations to get a feel for the NFL. Vet players never get a lot of pre season action.

The day it happened I remember reading "Prescott likely to miss two to three weeks", so this is not news. I have no idea why McCarthy said two to three days, unless he meant to say weeks.

Who knows if he misses game two then there is an issue most likely.
