He really doesn’t in reality. dink and dunk will do that for you. The margin of release is unmeasurable. It’s releasing the ball not how fast he’s releasing it. I think it's more about the lack of turnovers from Rush, but it's not all because of him. McCarthy finally decided that he needs a play action passing game to be successful. That requires not just running inside zone from shotgun.

In fairness, the Dallas offense has been much more efficient with sustaining drives. When Dak was the QB, there were way too many 3 and outs, which eventually tired the defense out. The Cowboys are playing much better complimentary football right now.

But he was better, IMO. He actually made the guys around him look better than they were, mostly. A lot of wins were because of him, and very few QBs could've won in his position. I don't think I've ever said that about Dak. I don't hate Dak, but I've pretty much lost hope that he'll ever get us to the promised land.

The offensive gameplan has pretty much changed since the Giants game, when they decided to make Rico the guy. Rush isn't just checking the ball down; when the play-action passing game gets going, the intermediate and deep routes open up (see Cooks, Lamb, and Flournoy last week).

I never said I like Rush. He's a serviceable backup. I also never said I prefer him over Dak. In fact, on multiple occasions I've stated quite the opposite.

No, it's a stat that means the defense has less time to pressure him. It also means the receivers have to get open faster, and probably won't get as many yards. But that also means the DB won't see the ball coming, in most cases.
