Dak would've been the MVP easily if he didn't fail so hard against Arizona, San Fran, and the Bills. If Dak plays those games like the first Eagles game (even if we lose) he probably STILL is easily MVP.

While Lamar ended the season putting on a clinic against San Fran (at San Fran) and against the Dolphins.

It's more than just stats.
San Fran threw 5 picks

Optics and standings matter. The Ravens got a 1 seed. Part of that was destroying the 49ers in SF. The Cowboys got rolled in SF, Dak did nothing and they got a 2.

We can compare stats all day but when it comes down to media voted awards it can be as simple as comparing a strong common opponent. Lamar won, Dak lost.

I don't buy the whole "his team has a better record" argument at all. Nothing against you but as we are often reminded wins and losses are a team thing. Overall this season Dak Prescott has been a better QB than Lamar Jackson. Not that Lamar has sucked or anything but he has simply not been as good as Dak. People like to point to the "but Dak had bad games against..." argument. Lamar had 4 games this season without a single TD pass. His team won two of those games. Dak had 2 such games.. One they lost against the Bills and in the other they beat the Giants 40-0. Dak had 4 games with less than 200 yards passing. For Dak it was the Giants and Carolina games when he watched the entire 4th quarter from the bench, then the Niners and Bills games. Jackson had 6 games with less than 200 yards passing. People will immediately chime in with "but he rushed for X yards.." Let's look at it

Houston - 169 yards passing (0 TD) 38 yards rushing (0TD) in a 25-9 win.
Cleveland - 186 passing (1 TD) 27 yards rushing (2TD) in a 28-3 win
Arizona - 157 passing (1 TD) 17 yards rushing (0 TD) 31-24 win
Seattle - 187 passing (0 TD) 60 yards rushing (0 TD) 38-3 win
Chargers - 177 passing (1) 39 yards rushing ( 0 TD) 20-10 win
JAX - 171 passing (1 TD) 97 yards rushing (0 TD) 23-7 win

So there is 6 wins with Lamar really doing next to nothing as a passer and really only standing out as a runner in two. Notice also that only 1 of those opponents scored more than 10 points.

MVP my arse.. Maybe we should be looking at somebody on the Ravens defense as the MVP.

Dak even being a candidate shows how special of a regular season he just had.

Lamar's a lock to win it (-8000 favorite) but Dak's right behind him at +1600.

In all honesty, Brock Purdy probably had the best season out of the 3. But he laid a massive egg vs Baltimore near the end of the season and the voters finally got their excuse to avoid giving it to last year's Mr. Irrelevant.

Lamar went into San Fran and absolutely stole the soul of the entire 9ers team...on that along he wins MVP, and this is nothing against Dak nor should I have even had to mention that, lol

One game does not a season make. Especially not when you only pass for 240-ish yards and the defense forces 5 turnovers. Looks more like the defense stole the soul of the entire 49ers team to me.

Purdy presided over a three game losing streak when he was without Deebo and Williams. And looked pretty pedestrian the whole time. He's not even the MVP of his own team.

It's a whole season for him...if you went to Vegas who would bet on? That will only prove my point further...now, all that means crap if Lamar craps out in the playoffs

Where I agree with you (for once), there are some other things listed in this thread, that "could" be taken to an account. The whole passing ranking of opponents was like 32, strength of victor, etc...

I am happy our QB was even close to winning, and honestly i felt it was 50/50. My point is, I can see why Lamar won, but I also could have seen why Dak. MVP is dirtly like the whole CFB playoff committee ... no one really knows what makes you a winner.

All came down to the Buffalo game. He had the mvp wrapped up going into it. Had 2 bad games this year, SF and BUF.

I remember you saying Dak is a below average quarterback, sucks, bum, etc....

Please explain to the people how a sorry, bum, below average quarterback can possibly be in the MVP conversion by other players and coaches from around the NFL....

This is an honest question. How is that possible?

MVP=participation trophy. What does it really mean? If football is the team sport, how can one person win the MVP among all the teams in the NFL? Who ever wins that award had to have help from his? Yeah, teammates. Oh, you might get a nice little trophy to put on your fireplace mantle to collect dust, but other than that it is a meaningless award.

"Hey, everyone, look at me, I won the MVP. Sorry I did not play well enough to win the SuperBowl because the team let me down. You want to hold my trophy? "

You live to hear others praise Dak, don't you?

You ask questions like this just wanting to hear Dak praise.

Why do you care so much about another man's praise?

It was a very weak QB year that is going to see Lamar Jackson EASILY win it with very average stats for most years, so this was Dak's best chance for an MVP. It's not like he had this magical season.

Give it a rest, bro.

I think this will be a bad year for Dak.

I see him struggling and missing time with injuries at some point.

He’s on the downslope.

he lost his chance during the run of playoff teams that they played against, Bills - 10 point sccored - Loss, Dolphins - 20 points scored - Loss, Lions - 20 points scored - could have easily lost. 20 point or less in the playoffs will get you sent packing into the off season.
As it did by the Dak-led Cowboys the last 2 seasons.

People worried about MVP. I'm worried about NFCCG
