I get your point. I just don't agree with it.I’m being dishonest? Okay. Carter was drafted in 2001, the year after Aikman retired. All the other QBs you mentioned were either here or after Carter was drafted. I didn’t say you were the only one who stated Dak is irreplaceable, nor did I directly said you stated it. I am pointing out the narrative of Dak being irreplaceable is false. I’m pointing out that Dak is the latest of a long line of QBs that have not been the guy to get Dallas past the the divisional round. So:
Carter, Stoerner, Hutchison, Wright, Cunningham, Leaf, Hensen, Vinny, Stephens, Banks, Bledsoe, Romo, Rush, Dak, Lance all have a 4 combined playoff wins in 23 seasons.
My point is we are still in the post Aikman QB purgatory. Dak is the shiniest of the crew but still isn’t the guy. Holding onto someone who is not the guy will only prolong the purgatory.
Our lack of playoff success since Aikman is not because of the QB position.
No one would never sit here and say we only won rings because of Aikman. Yet, you're making the argument the QB position is why we haven't won.
Yes, we haven't had playoff success. Yes, Romo and Dak should've played better.
But let's also remember that Trent Dilfer, Eli Manning(TWICE), Nick Foles, Brad Johnson are all Super Bowl champions.
I bring up those names to say that you're never one player away from winning.
Cowboys have had some underlying issues that were much deeper than QB.
