Ya'll remember when a more accomplished QB, Lamar Jackson, thought he was worth more than he was?

The Ravens said "okay, try and find a team to pay ya what you're wanting".

He didn't get a single offer and came crawling back to the Ravens.

He didn’t have the leverage last year that he does now. The clock is ticking, and if he enters the regular season which is less than two weeks away without a new contract, he may play out the season and explore free agency. We’re almost certain to lose him if that happens. No one thought he wouldn’t have a new contract by now.
And that is quite fine if we lose him to FA next year. He will aLeo lose out on not having a team in retirement, but at $60+M a year maybe that is not important any longer.

He's probably going to tank on purpose if not paid. Good luck as a Raider next year bub.
No, he's really not. He knows looking bad this year would kill his chances for a big contract next year.

definitely a gentlemen's agreement between the clubs on that whole ordeal.

For a guy that never won two playoff games in a row, let alone winning a Super Bowl. He really talks a big game.
That's all he has right now, The jones boys have a number and its up to dak to sign it or play elsewhere.

This.

For once it would be awesome if Dallas didn’t bid against themselves.

If he were to suffer a serious injury, as in career threatening, that could certainly change a lot of things. Anything involving his throwing elbow or shoulder that requires surgery could definitely deter teams.
Pretty sure he has insurance in the event of an injury. Pretty standard for this caliber of a player entering a contract year.

A serious career threatening injuries would still cost him a lot of money. He could really break the bank in free agency.

I think he's gone unless Jerry breaks the bank. There is no incentive for him to return here..

That may be fine to you and a lot of other fans, but it won’t be fine when we’re suffering through a QB carousel of castoffs trying to replace him.

Cowboys fans seem to care about what Dak is going to do without the Cowboys more than they care about what the Cowboys are going to do without Dak.
The Dak haters don’t care what he’s going to do without the Cowboys. They just want him gone. The Cowboy fans that truly understand the situation the team is in, care greatly about what the Cowboys are going to do without Dak if they lose him to free agency. I couldn’t imagine losing him and only ending up with a compensatory pick. Then we’re stuck looking for another starting QB. The fans that are relishing the thought of that will be singing a much different tune if it ever comes to fruition.

How many QBs in the NFL aren’t overpaid? All he needs is a damn defense that steps up in playoffs. No QB is going to win if their defense plays like CRAP in the playoffs. Even without a running game he’s shown he can throw for a ton yards and TDs. He puts up big numbers because he has to.
Of course any successful playoff team needs a stout defense to win games. But will that help cure the "dear in the headlights" look Dak gets?

He doesn’t have that look. You’re listening to too many of the other haters. We’re not successful in the playoffs because we don’t have a stout defense that shows up in critical games against contending teams.

He’s had all the leverage since he signed his extension 4 years ago

First, I saw the look myself and I'm not a Dak hater.

Second, I don't see how you pay 2 offensive players top-2 salaries and afford a stout defense. Not this FO anyway.
