Lol I rather my qb break passing records. I'm not against Dak, but when it comes to passing both Manning and Brady have done everything Dak has done plus more

I agree, haha

Dak should be as good as brady on 4th and 1 qb sneaks, I don't get why brady is good at it, and other qbs are not

We all know Dak is not those two. He's good not great.

Dak plays more like a cross between Cousins and Babe Laufenberg. Great games against inferior teams i.e. NFCE, sucks against a NFL playoff caliber team. In the famous words of Emmitt, "Can't turn a diamond from a pile of poo". Or maybe i am just paraphrasing a bit, but you get the gist.

Never once in Payton Mannings career has he ever thrown for 4,900 yards. Dak Prescott has. The only person Dak need to be is Dak and this team will be fine. He done things neither Manning or Brady have done in this league and it's about damn time he gets the respect he deserves.
:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

Peyton threw for 5500 yds at age 37 which is still the NFL record for yards in season

Brady threw for 5300 yds last year at age 44

Neither Brady nor Manning would have done what they've done behind poor protection.

Prescott needs to play like Mahomes and Allen. The pocket could be a trap for him with this OL.

Those guys create their own protection by being 1 step ahead of the defense every snap. Yes, they'll do better with a strong OL, but they're never going to do horrible no matter how poor their OL is.

Colts 2010 (Peyton): 16 sacks
Colts 2011 (Other QBs): 35 sacks

Denver 2011 (Other QBs): 42 sacks
Denver 2012 (Peyton): 21 sacks

New England 2019 (Brady): 28 sacks
New England 2020 (Other QBs): 37 sacks

Tampa Bay 2019 (Other QBs): 47 Sacks
Tampa Bay 2020 (Brady): 22 sacks

Seems highly unlikely that the Colts and Patriots got significantly worse on the OL the moment Brady and Manning left AND at the same time the Broncos and Bucs got significantly better on the OL the moment Brady and Manning arrived.

They prevented a lot of sacks by being all-time greats. That's why they're Brady and Manning.

Passing yards mean less than nothing. At all.

Stop comparing Dak to other quarterbacks. It's about as ridiculous as comparing yourself to someone else!

Oh please. Peyton was tickled when Dak had that horrific season ending injury w/his ankle stopping him from defeating his passing record in a single season. And last time I checked, Dak was several years under Peyton's 37 years old age in doing so lol.
Nothing exciting here.

So you are more interested in Dak's individual stats than you are about winning. Interesting....

You do know that does absolutely nothing for the team, right?

My point was that they went down when nothing was there and took sacks, and they threw the ball away. They also utilized throwing to rb's more than most qbs do. Those are all things Dak can and should do this year. He has a strong defense and special teams to allow him to keep himself and the ball safe. He doesn't have to play like romo, when romo had to make plays to win
You'd think a so called franchise QB would have known these things by their 3rd year.

I think Dak needs to play like he is Manning and Brady. I enjoy watching qb's who can scramble, leave the pocket, make plays happen, but not as much as I enjoyed watching those 2 work in the pocket. I am not saying dak will be as good in the pocket as them, but

Brady and Manning
-move in the pocket, if the sack is coming tuck the ball and go down
-throw the ball away
-throw to the rb to avoid pressure
-have quick slants available

If the offensive line play is subpar, or takes time to develop:
1.How do you think the cowboys can counter that?
2.How do you think Dak should play?
3.Do you think the cowboys can be in the top 15 in offense?
4.Can the cowboys make the playoffs?

I think dak needs to tuck the ball and go down and throw it away over trying to make plays. Let the defense and special teams give opportunities and win field position. Our punter is a major weapon.
Dak is a hell of a nice guy, saw that in the game last night, with that said Dakota "Toad Hunter" Prescot's skill set doesn't play well against decent teams in the NFL. If the Cowboys continue to go with the Toad Hunter they're not going to be the stud team all want, they'll be the Pittsburg Pirates in the NFL!

Huh? Payton Manning threw for over 5400 yards in 2013.
Both Brady and Manning have thrown for over 4900 yards at least once in their career. What haven't they done, that Dak has? They both own damn near every Qb record

Beat me to it, lol.

The OP's content in general has a lot of info I can support. I just think it's title with that of the 2 HOFs as it's base argument for style of play may have been the wrong choice.

I think Dak is a superbowl capable qb. All I want from him, especially this year with the oline, is to be a high powered bus driver type qb. With the improvements on defense and special teams he does not need to risk his body to score 40 points. He is going to get beat up, so when he is able, take sacks safely, throw the ball away, dump it off to the rbs, and make big plays when they are available. Let the punter and defense help with field position.

I think with this playstyle of formula they can be competitive with most teams.

They might lose 1 or 2 caused by safe offensive play, but I think that will be less losses than risky play with a subpar oline which may also get dak injured.

This is exactly the offensive mindset that Linehan instilled in him in his rookie year.
That team just did not have the defense that this year's squad does.

IF the OL can control TOP by an effective ball control run game like last year's first 7 games or his 2016 rookie year, then the offense may be able to achieve some success in the way you describe here.

Moore/McCarthy and Philbin gotta give him a ground game to lean on. Period.

A high volume pass attack with this QB (even with a dominant o line) is not conducive to success. Thus all Dak's favorable win stats when Zeke is over a 100 yds compared to the losses when he's not.

The defense is ready. And like you said, the punter is a weapon as well. The offense just can't be a 3 and out machine because then the defense will eventually get tired.
