Funny, when Dez played with Dak early in Dak's career, the knock on Dez quickly became "he's a lousy route runner and can't create separation".

Which has not been, nor ever will be, said about Lamb.

For a "lousy route runner" who "couldn't create separation", I'd say Dez had some pretty good seasons catching balls from Romo.

What's more indicative to this discussion is, how did Dez perform with Romo and how did Dez perform with Dak?
There's the comparison that might shed a little more light on this.

his last 3 years with Romo as starter, Dez averaged 1312 yards per year with 14 TD a year.
His 2 years with Dak as starter, 817 yards per year and 7 TD a year.

Production literally almost cut in half.
Coincidence? Maybe. I don't think so though.
Lol so you comparing a Dez playing with a young Dak and a Veteran Romo? And Dez route running was always a weakness that was talked about. Also, maybe Dez body was starting to wear down, he had injuries in 2016 and 2017, and 2018 he got injured and never played another down in the NFL. He was only 30

and TO played with a young Romo
And had (statistically) his 2nd best season ever, in Romo's first year as starter.
When TO was 34 and well past his prime.
Lol y'all really need to stop acting like Romo was a rookie, he was 27 when he started in 2007, he started 10 games in 2006. He came into the league in 2003

If dez was hampered by injuries in 2016 and 2017 how did he start 29 of 32 regular season games those 2 years?
Nobody ever questioned Dez toughness, just because he played doesn't mean he was effective. He suffered lower body injuries too

First year starting is first year starting.
Rodgers carried Favres clipboard for 3 years and GB still went 6-10 his first year under center.

Got it. So a guy who's production was cut in half by "injuries" two years straight still managed to start almost every single game.

Makes sense.

Makes perfect sense, especially since it was 3 straight years of lower body injuries, and after that final injury he never played another down in the league. You would have more of an argument if Dez went on and had success elsewhere, but injuries happened

Dez was a shell himself by the time Dak got here. Same goes for Witten. It’s no surprise that Witten retired and Dez unofficially did. Dez’s demise started in 2015 not 2016.

He completely ignores the fact that Dez was out the league by the age of 30
Right and we all knew he was going to be. Him not running good routes was a knock on him before 2016 it just didn’t matter because he was in peak condition….but injuries kill athleticism and careers.

Yeah. After he ruptured his Achilles. In 2018

You going to tell me that an injury that happened in 2018 hampered his production in 2016 and 2017?
In 2016, Dez has a hairline fracture on his knee, in 2017 he had a sprained ankle, you telling me those didn't effect his performance especially someone who wasn't a strong route runner to begin with?

For a game or two? Sure, could have an effect.

But are you saying a sprained ankle and a hairline fracture that caused him to miss a total of 3 games in 2 seasons are responsible for his production getting cut in half?

Okie dokie.

His production decline started in 2015…another injury plagued year. Why did Dez not catch on with the Saints or Ravens when he left here? Why is he out the league?

Again, Dez is tough, nobody questions that. Keep slapping your four by forehead mayne it'll get thru
