Dak Prescott is starting ** Mega Thread **

It's like I said before; the Romoholics here (like myself) should like nothing more than having this young man come in and kick hind end for our team!

I just wanted him to have more time to develop

He will have interceptions, misthrows, fumbles and bad decisions but when you love a team and its players you have to bear with it. I've been through the good times so I should be able to endure the crapp times too.

We are all sad about Romo, but no time to mourn. It's time to hope on the DANK PRESGOAT HYPE TRAIN!!

Dak or we strike

Romo really sits 6-8 weeks seasons over anyway.

Let's see what the most promising qb we've had since romo can do!!!

First, let me make it clear that in my opinion this IS Romo's team. I'm as enthusiastic about Dak as anyone, but losing Romo is just sickening to me.

Now, with that being said, I truly believe that Dak can at the very least keep our season alive. This is a rookie with poise and composure, who will be lining up with-

1) Arguably the best O line in the league.
2) HOF TE
3) Elite WR
4) VERY solid slot receiver.
5) Blue chip rookie RB.
6) VERY solid veteran RB to backup the guy mentioned above.
7) An offense that has proven they can be elite in the running game.

If any offense can provide an environment for a rookie QB to succeed in, I think it's this one. And I think Dak is the type of rookie who has the appropriate skill set and intangibles to succeed in said offense.

It's a weird situation to be in as a fan. Losing Romo makes me nauseous. But, I am more than a little curious to see how Dak looks behind our O line and with all of our other toys at his disposal.

Thoughts?

Quincy Carter had almost none of those in 2003 and went 10-6. Just saying.

its a problem. right off the bat in week 1 he will have to face a defensive coordinator that blitzes from everywhere.

Dak will have to make adjustments and hopefully frederick will help also.

I hope he can handle it, personally because of the defense i think if dak started all year we would win between 2 to 4 games.

Someone is ging to find a way to make dak uncomfortable and then everyone will attack it.

I am surprised to see you this negative.

This is seriously looking like 2001 all over again....

Professional career

Dallas Cowboys
In the 2001 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys didn't have a first-round pick because of the trade that sent two first round choices to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Joey Galloway. Looking for a replacement to the retired Troy Aikman, Carter was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round (53rd overall). At the time, it was a selection that was criticized by the media as a reach and it was reported that owner/general manager Jerry Jones influenced the organization into making it.

Although he was expected to spend time learning the game behind Tony Banks, after having a very good pre-season he was named the team's starting quarterback, becoming the first quarterback rookie selected in the second round, to start a week 1 game in NFL history and only the second rookie quarterback to open the season as a starter in franchise history. He was also part of a succession of short-tenured quarterbacks following the retirement of Aikman. However, after suffering two separate injuries, he ended up starting only eight games, both Anthony Wright and former San Diego Chargers second-overall pick Ryan Leaf started three, while former Arkansas Razorback Clint Stoerner started two.

Quincy Carter starting lineup compared to Dak starting lineup

QB - Quincy Carter
RB - Troy Hambrick
FB - Richie Anderson
WR - Joey Galloway
WR - Terry Glenn
TE - Dan Campbell
T - Flozell Adams
G - Larry Allen
C - Matt Lehr
G - Andre Gurode
T - Kurt Vollers

QB - Dal Prescott
RB - Ezekiel Elliott

FB - Keith Smith
WR - Dez Bryant
WR - Terrence Williams
TE - Jason Witten
T - Tyron Smith

G - Lael Collins
C - Travis Frederick
G - Zack Martin
T - Doug Free

Carter was able to go 10-6 with that lineup. Dak's team is better at 8 spots offensively.

I think the defensive talent was fairly comparable.

Are you sure that Frederick is better than Matt Lehr?

We will pound teams into submission regardless who is the qb with this stable.

My only concern is the defense.

we will probably average 30 points a game on offense...

The read option with Dak will only help that cause too

Death from all angles to our opponents!
