That couldn’t be more correct, making this the right move. As a fan I don’t mind full rebuilds, but the rest of the roster doesn’t warrant it, and I don’t want these two handling anything like that. Letting him go meant that was the only logical choice. We will eventually end up there most likely, just not yet.

And what’s the alternative anyway? Signing a Mayfield type for 25-30 million and supposedly spend the rest on other players? No….they wouldn’t do it anyway. May as well take the good regular season and hope for the best come playoff time. (Yeah I know)

But man if this dude goes THIRTEEN seasons without even making and NFCCG and pocketed nearly a half BILLION….I mean wow, but very possible.
This roster is close, doesn’t need a full rebuild. Losing Dak would of set this franchise back

I just hope they did not give him a no-trade clause this time.
I would assume they did. It’s not in Todd France’s benefit to accept a worse-worded deal than what was previous. This will at least have all the bells and whistles of the last one

No matter how you feel this was a move the Cowboys had to make.

Let's say this is Mike McCarthy's last season. How attractive would the Dallas job be without a quarterback that can actually win games under contract?

This has been their strategy since Stephen took over the day to day. They will continue to resign their own and use fa for stopgap minimum players.

Will have plenty of money to retain Parsons, but expect another Lamb type of holdout coming next offseason, where he ultimately will get paid
Yes, so he'll be like his daddy where the SB is not the end goal - its staying revenant enough to keep the money rolling in.

Sad...

Wow. Really the worst case scenario. I was hoping for 3 years and 55 ish. Paid $60??? Beyond stupid. Four years is another extra year of pain. Worst FO in league history. I am shocked actually.
Nobody should be shocked. When's the last time Jerry won anything negotiation wise against a player?

I am on record saying I don't care whether he stays or go.....but I am not a fan of this happening a few hours before kickoff. Just more evidence of us NOT being a serious football organization. This signing happened RIGHT NOW for one reason and one reason only....headlines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The primary focus of EVERYONE associated with this organization from the front office, to the coaches, to the players, to the fans.... should have been the Cleveland Browns. Not Dak becoming the highest paid player in the history of the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol

This deal could have been done months ago.
It ended up being another four-year deal. I still believe an agreement would have been made sooner if it had been a six-year deal. Then again, the AAV would have decreased as a result of that compromise.

Would be cool if he could prove people wrong but he’s shown he isn’t capable of it.

Hes only as good as his supporting cast so making him the highest paid player in the NFL is just beyond moronic.
5 more years of knowing the next choke job is coming, save yourself some money as there’s no need to worry about SB tickets, it will be great entertainment watching him failing miserably when crunch time comes. Don’t worry his number one priority is going to the SB, he just doesn’t mean the Cowboys.

Yep, it really wouldn’t make much sense.

Also….other than SF, which contender isn’t paying a QB in the 50-55 range?

Seems like a level playing field.
