LOL, more playoff fails for years to come. They paid a guy the highest contract in the NFL who chokes in the playoffs. Fans are going to be upset when they can't surround him with elite players, and he needs elite players. Dak's skills will most likely decline before this contract runs out. Next year should be interesting with Parsons contract.
This title drought goes back so far it includes the last five years of Troy Aikman's career. This team last won a Super Bowl when Dak was three.

It takes a team and a coaching staff, not just a QB. The Cowboys have struggled to achieve that ever since Jimmy Johnson left. You can blame Dak all you want but the crux of this team's failures start and end with the Jones Boys.

Really sad day as a Cowboy fan. Four more years of getting nowhere near a Superbowl appearance with this man, who by the way, has already reached his ceiling and will be Russell W. in two years. Yet Dak fans consider this a good thing to fit your narrative is just ignorant but you can say" look at me I was right we resigned Dak you haters." " I am a realist, I knew there was no way I could win the race but I did finish it for a few points for the team."...................... Not gonna explain that quote because you all get it.

So it’s $240 with $230 guaranteed.

Didn’t see that big of a guarantee, but
It is what it is.

Time to ball now.

Parsons won’t sign here. This team is gonna fall apart over the next several seasons. They just paid an average QB an amount so detrimental to the cap, FA is off the table completely for the next half decade.
Agree. Parsons will move on unless he's also only interested in making money.

What this deal does is simple.

The Dallas Cowboys won't lose a single game this season. Dak Prescott, however, will.

It's just how fans' minds work.
I don't put all the blame on Dak... The front office is not serious about winning but about increasing their bottom line.

The Dallas Cowboys is the most valuable sports franchise in the world, and they haven't won in 30 years. As long as they don't go back to their 5-11 days under Dave Campo they are more than content to keep the status quo.

Yeah
Ill be rooting for him and the team but knowing in my heart it wont happen just like with Garret
It would've been more exciting to rip the band aid off and truly rebuild by drafting a new QB but now we'll just have to hope some miracle happens the next 4 years.

That drama is over now.

Actually it just begun because all the people that are happier maybe 60% but there's gonna be 40% of the haters creating all kinds of drama for the next who knows how long really upset and triggered by this contract I'd like to see the details like maybe they got the length wrong are there any void years how does this help our salary cap when this is more money then his dead cap hit is this year?

If this wasn't about money how do you get short years and the biggest deal ever handed out?

Those of us not in denial knew this was coming. This deal should have been done from the beginning. At very least it screws over the other teams that had to resign QBs.

Who is the next QB that will need to resign? He’s going to end up with $70 million.

Stop crying all the time. This is the league. Look at this list. How many of these guys guarantee you anything? Almost none. Its a team sport. You either have a highly paid franchise QB or you have some rookie gambles that you will be crying about no matter what.

Good post. Unfortunately, there will always be over criticism because professional sports athletes' contracts are totally deemed merit based instead of seen as economically driven.

When you look at the cowboys team the last few years, they just weren’t good enough against the elite teams, it’s not just the qb. Games are win and lost inside the trenches, that is the key.
Quit using logic this is the zone. You have to be emotional and not understand football

We know it’s a team sport.

That’s why there is an Anti pay Dak sentiment. Duh.
Because this team is so incredibly deep and talented they can win a Super Bowl without the QB that passed for 4500 yards and 36 touchdowns last year.
