One more contract extension and Dak will be able to buy the Cowboys
how exaggerating that is he's never gonna be worth $10 billion... Jerry wouldn't sell the team to himself for $10 billion right now... The team would have to be up for sale even if we're using hypotheticals here you exaggerated because first it has to be up for sale has to be approved and I'm not sure what the Cowboys can get for this team but it's probably gonna be around 6 billion to 10 billion billion not million these guys are millionaires nowhere close to what they could get into this league for.... Maybe you should start a go fund me page and get working on that :muttley:
the Denver Broncos was purchased just short of 5 billion... So imagine the Cowboys can be had for around 6 to 8 billion if Jerry wanted to sell and that's not happening

put on a serious note I think the way the contracts are going up especially at quarterback but if you look around other leagues and pro sports and I don't know if it's legal yet but they need to be made probably part of team ownership like sell them stock versus paying them cash value...

I kept telling you guys the Joneses wanted to extend him. Some were convinced they wanted to move on from me..wrong! What was holding it up was Dak and his side. Now we don’t have to worry about a carousel of castoff QBs battling for the job in 2025.:dance:

Jerry Jones you are a a fool if you did not put in an escape clause . Because once a mediocre QB , always a mediocre QB.

I’m more saying it from a team standpoint. It’s too much for a guy who has shown nothing in big moments and whose window is closing. No reason to give him close to this. It’s like Garrett but a player. Can’t quit him. Made more sense to play it out and see.
If Dak hit the market in March he would have cost even more. Some desperate team probably would have offered him close to $65 M apy. And what if the Cowboys fire McCarthy? No coach would take this job with zero quarterbacks signed past this year on the roster.

The deals for Dal and Lamb can be restructured to open cap space. This team can re-sign Bland, Parsons, and Smith in the future. They are now clearly operating in a four year window and any rebuild will have to wait until Dak and Lamb can be moved on from.

At least now the team has a plan and a direction. They weren't getting a QB in the 2025 draft that could replace Dak and they would have probably had to pay him even more if they waited for next offseason to do this.
And the salary cap is projected to go up $30 in 25 and another $30 in 26.

That sound you just heard was all of the Dak haters simultaneously jumping to their collective doom.
Before jumping, let’s see how many playoff wins he’ll get? That’s the first test. The second will be can he make and win the big show?

This was a huge mistake, and he was already overpaid.

So Dak will be 35 by the time this contract ends, I dont see him playing past that. So I guess we can be glad that this is pretty much his last contract here
Possibly the last QB for Jerry too.

I thought the gameday threads' main issue would be Tom Brady doing color commentary. "Bet Brady could still play better than Dak yuck yuck yuck."

Now the signing has happened. As always, a few people will not be able to help themselves. The contract will be mentioned. Someone will be called a hater. Others will join in. STOP THE NONSENSE post(s) will be created. It will have no effect. Several members will get automatically thread benched. Then the 'What the hell did I do?' messages will start.

All this (and more) happening during the game. Some folks will not understand (for the billionth time) the staff is watching the game too. And the quickest way to eliminate disruptions while watching the game and the thread also is eliminating the disruptions.

oh well.

GO COWBOYS!

His regular season performances absolutely merit the extension and I'm glad we're not looking at entering the Trey Lance era anytime soon. That said, gotta advance in the playoffs or the criticisms will never stop.
As if they should? The worst QB in the history of playoffs?

You were wrong and I guess you can continue to be a malcontents or get behind the team you say is your favorite
some may have been wrong about him being re signed

But on the more important details (his ceiling performance wise) they are just as right now as they were all summer.

Which is why I find it odd that you're more happy about the "haters" eating it, while as this great fan you profess to be, I would think your greater concern would be the long term health and success of the team

But, hey, don't let me distract you whilst you're hoisting yourself up on a very high horse.....
