Those who want to start from scratch and build a team that can compete 3-4 years from now or worse are unhappy.
Those of us who feel this team is finally on the right track by starting to bolster the run game and run defense are happy Because while we don't have a QB who can carry a flawed team to the SB, we have a very good QB who at least has a chance if the team is built to compete in playoff football.
That pretty much sums it up. Oh well, time for some football!

All I'll add is ... if this signing surprises you, or you don't think this would happen ... well welcome brand new Cowboys fan.

If you're not a new Cowboys fan, what the hell did you think was going to happen? After all, we have changed players, coaches and everything in between. Yet in the last 20 years, what HAS NOT changed?

It’s actually a team friendly deal. Both sides are happy. And the 80 million dollar signing bonus makes the yearly average way lower. We will have to see the structure but guessing the first 2 years will be a very low cap hit allowing us to sign others.

Some people seem to think regular season games are like playoffs. Playoff games are 2 teams that are much more evenly talented. If you have no run game and can’t stop the run it’s hard to control the ball. And coaching is more depended on. Takes a whole team to get to the SB. At least we have a QB that can help us get there and has shown he can win one. Other teams don’t even have that.

Last season, Prescott set career highs in completions (410) and touchdowns (36), throwing for 4,516 yards with only nine interceptions. He led Dallas to a 12-5 record...and no matter what you say, I'm not going to believe those two sea gulls stole the last two beers.

Seems pointless. If you’re gonna pay him top dollar, may as well wait until next off season to do it.
