Now we don't have to worry about another contract with Dan and we don't have to worry about drafting a QB at least for another 2/3 yrs, plus we can keep developing Lance and by the time Dan is done we will have a smooth handoff to Lance or a rookie, preferably Lance will be ready and then we can draft another QB.

It all goes back to what I’ve basically argued . The delay was all about public perception by not caving in too early after playoff embarrassment.

But he was All In all the way on Dak and Lamb. The longer he waited the less he’d be beat up on caving in. And Jethro was probably right.

He just went through an offseason having to factor in Dak's 50M+ cap hit. Imagine all the moves that weren't made b/c we had to eat Daks contract and couldn't afford them. The timing here makes no sense.
