Dude.

You were an incessant basher of Romo. You and I had many a back and forth.

Overall it was absolutely just as bad with Romo. I'd say it was worse.
We would laugh Romo haters off the site , there’s no getting rid of Prescott bashes. No, it’s not way worse for Romo. I pride myself on being an individual. Not a hater or a homer.

You weren't even here during that time.

Romo bashing was the same sport then as Dak bashing is now.

He's a solid QB in this era of football where it's so hard finding a solid QB. Saying Dak sucks would be saying the majority of the field sucks, it's just where we are now.

I had reached the same point with Romo. The point where I realized he was not that guy. But I will say this, I think Romo would have given the team a better chance to win than Dak would have during his rookie season especially in the playoffs. They could have saved the fine wine for the playoff run if they wanted. I can't believe Romo's career ended with a masterful touchdown drive that looked like child's play. I would have at least given him a series or 2 every game to see that kind of masterful QB play have a chance to continue. I understand why the team didn't, but I am not sure I could have left Romo on the sidelines full time after that last drive. It would have been a nightmare for an opponent defense to prepare for RPO Dak and Romo who at that point could sniff everything a defense was coming with pre snap and spin the ball at a high level. Romo was bad back waiting to happen again but in a limited change up role I think they missed out. Game prep for 2 entirely different QBs by the opponent was a lost advantage IMO.
Willingly going into the playoffs with a rookie QB is foolishness on steroids. Using both to create a strategic advantage, would have just been average smart. That's how obvious it was.

For everyone who says Dak can't carry the team or bring the team from behind for a win against good teams, well, here is one key game late in the season 2022 against the #2 ranked defense and division leading rival Eagles on Christmas eve for a win: 40 - 34 Cowboys

Pretty much destroys the false accusations.

I was posting on the old Cowboys fan forum. Romo was always getting praise. I don’t believe it was just at the end
It got so overwhelmingly bad with Romo love in the old boards, if you criticized Romo, you would get personally attacked. If you retaliated, you would get your account permanently banned. That's how bad it got.

The mods in the old boards would perma-ban Romo haters. That's a fact. It took the new female Administrator to come in towards the end and threaten everyone for the wrong way they were running the site. It eventually caused the site to shut down. That's how badly one-sided those old boards were run.

We will know a lot more after this year. Right now a case can be made either way.

We need W's in the playoffs. Those make the case even easier to make no matter which way he is now.
Crazy that after 7 years of being our QB we still have so many people who are sitting on the fence, me included. This coming season is going to be very interesting when it comes to Dak and the Cowboys.

You accused me of being a Romo basher, because I was critical of his untimely turnovers. I’ve been called a Romo hater which was completely untrue. Not once did I ever say he sucked or that he wasn’t any good or that I wanted to get rid of him. There was a thread where someone suggested trading him to KC for the number one overall pick several years ago, when he was up for his third contract. I spent that entire thread defending him. I repeatedly said we can’t move on from Romo until we find a better option. I’ve maintained that same stance with Romo and with Dak.

Dak got roasted for that first int but that was an unbelievable play by Sweat. You don't expect a defensive lineman to be able to pull that off.

All I know is that I'm starting to hate all these Dak threads. This is a make or break year for him. If he doesn't bring home the Lombardi this season, then the tipping point of him remaining the starting QB with Super Bowl potential will be over. 2024 will be the year the next "franchise QB" will be drafted.

Anyone hating on Dak or Romo with Jerry Jones as the GM are shoot foolish.

Both Dak and Romo were talented enough to win ........ Jerry just does not understand how to build a balanced team around them.

So wins are a QB stat or a team stat? While I agree he has some proving to do it all depends on how things unfold. He has never been soley responsible for wins or losses. And you must be new around these parts if you think jerry will draft a franchise QB he hasnt done that since Aikman. He fell into Romo and Dak my guess is the extension will come before the season starts.

You are probably right about Jerry, but it would be wise to start looking for the next franchise QB if Dak doesn't get it done this season. Dak isnt getting younger and he will start losing mobility and with his average arm talent, you don't want to get stuck paying 40-50 million a year with a declining player.
