Lol. Wow. Just from what you said I’m assuming both of your parents are alive. Imagine commenting on someone you’ve never met, with no knowledge of their family history. Maybe there is a reason he doesn’t speak about his dad. Considering his mom was a single mom I’d venture to guess the father didn’t have much part in raising him or his brothers. Could explain why he doesn’t speak about him.

You could have used his first, and actually football relevant statement in the title, but you went for the juicy one knowing full well what would happen. And now, the marathon begins.

Dak seems like a very good hearted kid, and I'm sure he is 100% sincere. He does seem to often work an angle to invoke sympathy.

I wouldn't give him a big contract as a football player, but I'd probably let him house sit my dogs, which is a big compliment to him as a human.

Although it is an honorable thing to be remembered for one who honors one's parent(s) he is in a extremely small society of starting NFL quarterbacks. It would have been nice to hear him say he'd like to be remembered for being a Super Bowl winning QB for the Dallas Cowboys.

I cant speak for everyone obviously, but losing a parent at a young age is very hard. So yea, football will be secondary.

Do your homework about his relationship with his Mom before spouting such insensitive comments. She was his greatest fan and never stopped believing in her son.

She was the reason whenever he did get the job he never gave it back.

Invoke sympathy from who? It’s considered “weak” and soft to do what he does.

As much as I am often disappointed by his play, Dak is one of my favorite Cowboys because he is a great human

For the most part, I don't have an issue with what he said or how he said it.

But I also understand that most folks are tired of hearing him talk without results. So, I get the negative comments from that standpoint.

All in all though, I think both sides can chalk this up as a guy in the public eye having to make comments in the off season. Let's just let this one go as a "no harm no foul".

Nothing wrong with loving your mom, although, I have a tough time identifying with that, since I was always "daddy's boy." Nevertheless, I'm sure his mom would be proud of the man he is, whether his career is ultimately a great one or not. There are many grown men who would dearly love to have had a mother that they were so close to. Personally, I think if Dak were never better than he is today, he'd have had a fine career. (jmho)

Crazy how society insists on making pride a positive trait.

I get what he's saying, but I refuse to use that word.
I hope my parents don't use it to describe me, and I don't/won't use it in regards to my daughter (at least not in the way used here).
