I don’t get why Dak is still some lightning rod topic.

He’s an ok player that got more money than he is worth. Anyone who thinks anything else is just delusional at this point.

If we can replace him with a younger and cheaper talent then they should do it but for now he’s an ok option.
younger and cheaper talent, like who?

Dak is not Elite.

ah, so you clearly are hoping and wanting the cowboys to lose in the post season.... your true colors are showing.

as I had said you are a Bash Dak over Dallas kind of a fan, which makes you not a cowboys fan.

go root for your eagles...or is it you root for wentz?
A few more games and we'll be able to talk Cowboys football in piece for a few months.

Hopefully the ditch Dak soon so most of you most vocal will go pretend to be Cowboys fans somewhere else.

like I said, you are a Bash Dak fan over Dallas. you want cowboys to lose in the playoffs so you can start your bashing.

I bet you will disappear for a good while if Cowboys end up in the superbowl.

no team really keeps a QB for 15-20 years that doesn't win it just doesn't happen.

I am old school in tha teams expect results in 5 years. At least, chap, in sane organizations.
Blimey! in 7 years, Dak has ONE career playoff win (a real stat for you no-one-is-a-team babblers) and, of course, no Super Bowl bling.
15-20 years in the NFL, old boy?
9 years for Dak in Dallas?
i feel like slapping you like in Europe!

He’s a great QB. Not elite but not far off. Anyone who can’t see that is delusional or has an agenda or both.

Why have I never seen even one disclaimer from you that says "Dak is great, but he does need to win in the playoffs" You don't even seem to care about Super Bowls, you care about defending Dak.

Same goes for all of you that are attacking me for making a common sense thread that would apply to any QB in the NFL and you turn it into a Dak hate thread, it isn't but believe what you want it's really a common sense thread.

5 QBs have won their first Super Bowl in their 30s, just 5. That's not very many in the history of the NFL. Dak will be 30 before next season starts.

Come on let's use more sense and less emotions.

I'm comparing him to Derek Carr who I think is in the same range as Dak talentwise he was benched and is going to be gone after this season, this is Carr's 9th season. Dak in his 7th season threw the same amount of INTs as Carr this season in 5 less games. I'm not saying get rid of Dak now but if he doesn't win this playoffs or the next two it's time to move on. He'll be 30 next summer no team really keeps a QB for 15-20 years that doesn't win it just doesn't happen. At some point you have to show you can win a Super Bowl, that is the entire point of the game not regular season wins or TDs.
Don’t worry Dak will be in Dallas the next 6 years minimum . Jerry doesn’t need to see anything but green, Jerry loves him some Dak ,remember it’s everyone else’s fault never Dak.

Remember though Jerry told Dak in the Press Conference to his face "I overpaid you"

Who knows if Dak even wants to stay here his entire career maybe he doesn't like the Jones'.

Ridiculous summary. None of those QBs out of your 8 examples except Stafford and Mahomes won a Super Bowl. In your attempt to paint Dak as some failure which he's not (looking at it with an even lens), the same could apply to all of those names since you're suggesting the only way to not be labeled a failure is winning a Super Bowl. Those are your claims.
The point is that all of the quarterbacks mentioned in my initial paragraph improved those teams. Aside from Stafford and Mahomes, Burrows reached a Superbowl, Jackson won MVP and Herbert/Lawrence are just getting into full swing whilst Allen is universally regarded as a top 5 QB in the league.
Prescott isn't a failure. Arguably his game and style is similar to a solid QB like Alex Smith - he wasn't good enough for the Chiefs to win a Superbowl so they moved on, drafted a QB and won the Superbowl.
But hey let's just stick with Prescott for the next 10 years as the last 8 years have been so wonderful.

It would be 9 freaking years! , no freaking thanks. It is literally now or never.

If it didn't work for / with Dak in 7 there is no reason to think it will work in the 9th year. Besides, comparing to Carr is a low bar, Carr has a SB ring just because he was warming up the bench while backing Eli M with the Giants, but he never played a single snap that season, so unless you bench Dak and make him a backup of a SB winning QB there is no point in comparing.
Not really, since we currently have no contingency plan, since we do not believe in investing draft stock on competing/future starting QBs.
Love or hate Dak doesn't even matter, Dak will be here for a while even after the FO finally drafts a future replacement.

Do you consider the likes of Alex Smith, Kirk Cousins and Derek Carr as great quarterbacks - not elite, but not far off? If so, then fair enough. I understand your barometer as they are on the same level as Prescott.

Dak is going to be extended and it could happen this off season

Give him a 10-year extension at 1 billion $ just because he is D-A-K.
All the glory we have witnessed with him under center one wishes he would play (Like Brady) till his 45!:muttley:
He’s probably gonna get a 2-3 year extension I think
We already owe him money for two of those years

Daks much better than them 3.
Therein lay the issue. If you are unable to see that Prescott is on the same level as those guys - three solid NFL quarterbacks then you overrate him.

His stats are very similar to Cousins and when everything around them isn't perfect they both invariably fall apart. Carr has played on weaker teams than Prescott and his stats aren't too far off whilst Alex Smith played half his career when defenders could still hit a QB and at the 49ers - a very strong defensive team but not an explosive offense.
