I disagree, if Prescot lays an egg in the first rd , then next year should be his last if he can't lift this club on his shoulders and carry them DEEP into the playoffs. He's had more than enough time to get his act together and if it wasn't for his injury there's a pretty good chance this club wouldn't have changed direction with the run game first and would probably sitting in 3rd place in their division because this club isn't winning anything if it has to depend on Prescot's arm first and run second.

Right, they need to depend on Prescott's arm and the run game, however, if the defense cannot stop the other team then all is lost. I'm not a Prescott fan but he is not the only reason the team does not go any farther than they have been, although he is part of the problem by not controlling the ball since he touches it on every play.

The other parts of the problem are many. It could be the receivers not catching, it could be all the penalties, it could be field conditions, it could be weather conditions, it could be injuries during a game, it could be the refs doing a bad job, it could be the kicker missing kicks, just all kinds of stuff, the coaching, even the shape of the football.

Football is not static from one game to the next, in other words, the Cowboy can look like World beaters in one game and then crap on the field the next. The game is dynamic and changes from one play to the next because there are so many variables that could happen at any time, some good and some bad for each team.

I can't really lay all the fault of this teams success or lack of on Prescott. As petty as I am about Prescott and why I dislike him is because he is getting rewarded for being elite which he is not, that and his no trade clause is why I started to dislike him. I would never hire a player that I could never get rid of even if I wanted to.

But, then again, what the hell do I know?

Oh, and one more thing that might send me to the bench, there are some posters that want to make the dislike about Prescott's play racial and I don't play that game, but there are those that do, and I will not reveal who they are because they know who they are.

The Cowboys will win the next playoff game after beating the Redcommanders.

The defense couldn’t stop the Eagles yet Dak put the team on his back and torched one of the best defenses in the NFL into oblivion.

That was the last game and it certainty does not mean he/the team will do it again. Football is not static, did you not just read what I wrote.

You made a I quit thread last year? That was his claim and you didn't deny it.
No use denying it because he’ll just lie again about something else. I said I was not going to post for awhile because I was sick of all the idiots like him so happy the team lost in the playoffs. He twisted that into saying I quit never saying what it is I supposedly quit. I’ve never quit anything in my life and despise those that give up at the drop of a dime.

You said he couldn’t do it and I showed you he just did. Now you’re changing the narrative.

You did not show me anything, I saw the game.

So what narrative do you want to talk about?

Go ahead and cut loose of Dak after two more years if we don’t win a championship and we might not be in a position to make the playoffs if we don’t have a viable QB replacement. Apparently a lot of fans on this board want to see the Cowboys end up like Washington. Had they kept Kirk Cousins a few years ago they would be making the playoffs every season. They haven’t had a winning season since Cousins was their QB. Washington has had some good defensive teams and and have a talented WR but they don’t have a QB. If Howell doesn’t show anything against the Cowboys, they may be looking to draft another QB this April. They wasted a number of premium picks on QBs. They wasted some draft picks on Carson Wentz. Some of you might want to see the Cowboys end up like Washington, but I don’t.

I don’t get why Dak is still some lightning rod topic.

He’s an ok player that got more money than he is worth. Anyone who thinks anything else is just delusional at this point.

If we can replace him with a younger and cheaper talent then they should do it but for now he’s an ok option.

Rams didn't believe Goff could get them over the hump. They dumped him, brought in Stafford and they win the Superbowl.
The Eagles realised that Wentz wasn't the same player after his leg injury, dumped him, drafted Hurts and are on the verge of the #1 seed having won the Superbowl not too long back.
The Bengals hadn't won a play off game since...they draft Burrow and come to within a score of winning the Superbowl last season and are again a contender this season.
Jaguars have been a joke for several years, they draft Lawrence and are within a game of winning their division.
Have the Bills had a quality QB since Jim Kelly? They draft Josh Allen and they become very relevant again.
Alex Smith had his ceiling, the Chiefs were aware of this, drafted Mahomes, won a Superbowl and are serial contenders.
Herbert is the x factor at the Chargers and they look a team that could be a contender.
Ravens draft Jackson. He becomes MVP and if he actually had some help on offense they would be a contender.

Of course there will be horrific busts along the way like Baker Mayfield but in reality how many premium picks have the above teams committed to quarterbacks over the past 10 years?

How many premier draft picks have the Cowboys committed to QB over the last 10-15 years? Short answer is none. Yet it's hilarious how terrified some people are of drafting a QB in the 1st or 2nd round. Oh no good grief that would be foolish because a good franchise with solid foundations might actually draft a highly competent/elite QB and be able to ride hus rookie contract all the way to the Superbowl. I forgot, Prescott is indispensable to the team as they are unable to win games without him. It's not as if a practice squad QB is 5-1 with the same team as Prescot over the last 18 months...hang on...

Anything other than reaching the SB would be a failure this season. 49ers are onto their 3rd QB, Eagles have a banged up QB, over the season Brady has looked a shell of himself, Rodgers is dealing with kids, average vets and a banged up O-line whilst the Vikings have Cousins - he will never win a Superbowl.

Realistically Prescott will get this season and next but if the front office restructure his contract and keep him for another 5 years then it's evident that they have zero intention of winning. A winning team makes the necessary moves to get the team over the hump.

That despite the defense playing so poorly the Cowboys can still win.

True, and it could also be that if the defense is holding the fort and the game is about to end...the offense could lose the game in some freaky manner like an int or something.

Anyway, if you just want to have a discussion with me about Dak, all I'm going to say is that he is the QB of the Dallas Cowboys, nothing more and nothing less.

He’s a great QB. Not elite but not far off. Anyone who can’t see that is delusional or has an agenda or both.

What? You're talking about talking heads.....they have the 4th best odds in Vegas to win the SB lol. But Vegas is clueless I guess......

A fool would rather play the 49ers than the Brady or Rogers....just wow. We'll agree to disagree...I can't talk football with someone who keeps talking about ESPN and doesn't get it. Talking heads.....man gone somewhere lol.
I will play Purdy any day before Rogers or Brady!! Tell me how many times we beat Brady or Rogers. You want a hint champ, it looks like an egg on your keyboard. Watch more football and stay away from any betting!

Low football IQ arguments on how and why to get rid of Dak. Hypothetical scenarios, unrealistic expectations and exaggerations. No real solutions to made up problems.
Night & day team with Dak compared to Rush. Not debatable. I won't take anyone seriously, talking about team wins either. Prolific offense with him. Those are just facts.
And when you can weed and sift through all of the trash trolls, there's actually some decent football talk here. Not the childish, negative and unlikable contrarians.

Ridiculous summary. None of those QBs out of your 8 examples except Stafford and Mahomes won a Super Bowl. In your attempt to paint Dak as some failure which he's not (looking at it with an even lens), the same could apply to all of those names since you're suggesting the only way to not be labeled a failure is winning a Super Bowl. Those are your claims.
