Dak Prescott signed a 4 year , $240,000,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including $80,000,000 signing bonus, $231,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $60,000,000. In 2024, Prescott will earn a base salary of $1,250,000 and a signing bonus of $80,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $43,382,647 and a dead cap value of $195,270,294.

Kirk Cousins signed a 4 year , $180,000,000 contract with the Atlanta Falcons, including $50,000,000 signing bonus, $100,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $45,000,000. In 2024, Cousins will earn a base salary of $12,500,000 and a signing bonus of $50,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $25,000,000 and a dead cap value of $90,000,000.

Derek Carr signed a 4 year , $150,000,000 contract with the New Orleans Saints, including $28,500,000 signing bonus, $100,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $37,500,000. In 2024, Carr will earn a base salary of $1,210,000 and a restructure bonus of $28,790,000, while carrying a cap hit of $12,668,000 and a dead cap value of $62,800,000.

There really isn't that much of a difference between the 3 QBs in terms of overall impact but the salary difference is substantial.
Please don’t rub it in! The other teams realize that you can make moves for other QB’s if u need one. The Cowboys unfortunately are unwilling to roll the dice. Lance was the move, paying Dak $60m a year was fools gold, Guaranteed! And I like Dak. Baker Mayfield could have been had CHEAP, he is still on a CHEAP contract even though the Bucs stepped up and rewarded him last year. My God we have made stupid moves.

But who has ever won anything with those caliber guys. That’s my point. Is winning a Super Bowl the goal or 10/11 wins and a wild card/2nd round exit the goal?
"Thise caliber guys"??

Scenario #2 is exactly what we're getting with Dak. Do you believe for even one second that Dak makes us a Super Bowl contender?

We could get as good as we're getting now for a helluva lot less and improve the team elsewhere

Im not talking about Dak. Im saying paying mid tier guys, mid tier money isnt a solution either. It’s never gotten anyone anywhere.
Dak is a leader off the field, he is quite wonderful in that respect. Baker seems to be a winner on the field, you can just see him take games over with lots of attitude as he did last week.

Darnold did something poopydiaper Dak couldn't do vs the 49ers. How much is he making?
Good question! Maybe Darnold is making $7-8m?! Would have to look it up which I’m sure someone will do.

Sam Darnold signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings for the 2024 season, valued at $10 million. This deal includes a $6.25 million signing bonus, a $2.5 million guaranteed base salary, a $250,000 workout bonus, and $1 million in per-game active bonuses. If he remains active throughout the season, Darnold could earn the full amount

There is a reason Noone wanted Baker and Dak was set to be the biggest free agency get of all time. Just because you can't see the difference doesn't mean it's not there.
And yet maybe The Browns made a hell of a mistake. The Browns had a reason, was it correct or were they just Short Bus Slooow…..

Maybe better. Mayfield actually showed up in last year playoffs and won a game

It doesnt make sense to get worse at qb for cap savings if the team isn’t getting outside free agents anyway. The Cowboys have almost $30 million right now and they aren’t getting anyone.

They need all of it to sign Micah.

Carr or Cousins are worse QBs? You just saw Carr play on the same field as Dak. Who looked better? Forget the stats. Carr was the better player.
