Basically the same quarterback. Commanders team was a dumpster fire. Vikings OL for majority of his career was bottom tier however greatly improved his last two years. Still dont think they cracked the top 10. Besides one year they had some of the worst defenses in the nfl. Dak simply has had far superior supporting talent every year on both sides of the ball.

Cousins also willed that Vikings team into the playoffs in 2022 something Dak could never do imo.

Not sure if these stats include last year or not as I did these numbers awhile ago.

Dak: regular season career
99 passer rating
67 cmp%
5.2 TD% , 1.9 INT%
7.6 Y/A, 7.8 AY/A, 11.4 Y/C

Playoffs:
91.8 passer rating
64.5 cmp%
5.1 TD%, 2.5 INT%
7.1 Y/A, 7.0 AY/A, 11 Y/C

Cousins: regular season career
98.2 passer rating
66.9 cmp%
5.2 TD% , 2.1 INT%
7.6 Y/A, 7.7 AY/A, 11.4 Y/C

Playoffs:
93.7 passer rating
66.5 cmp%
3.2 TD%, .6 INT%
6.8 Y/A, 7.1 AY/A, 10.2 Y/C

Looking at the numbers they are vastly similar in almost all aspects with Dak being slightly better. Playoffs Cousins has better "face value stats" even with his first playoff game coming in at the end of the game and doing nothing.

Dak is nowhere near that much more then Cousins. Has put up similar numbers with terrible OLs and has had some dumpster fire defenses

Granted Cousins probably has another 2 maybe 3 years left in him imo.
Once again…Cousins is 4 years older than Dak and coming off a ACL tear. He’s also 3-10 in prime time games which is tough when you play on prime time a lot.

I mentioned his age. You mean his "team" is 3-10 in prime time games.

Don't care if he was 13-0 in prime time games. Meaningless media stat like how Qbs get "wins"

You ever seen a good quarterback have a bad record? Have we ever had a instance where a All Pro QB was so great but his team still lost?

I expected Dak to be at the top-ish. I still don't get how he reset the market, by 5 million AAV, and got a huge signing bonus and guarantees.

They literally dragged this out for months, and probably caved on every demand.
I heard Dak wanted $55M a year but JJ held out for $60M! JJ wanted to say HE set the QB market!

Dak Prescott signed a 4 year , $240,000,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including $80,000,000 signing bonus, $231,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $60,000,000. In 2024, Prescott will earn a base salary of $1,250,000 and a signing bonus of $80,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $43,382,647 and a dead cap value of $195,270,294.

Kirk Cousins signed a 4 year , $180,000,000 contract with the Atlanta Falcons, including $50,000,000 signing bonus, $100,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $45,000,000. In 2024, Cousins will earn a base salary of $12,500,000 and a signing bonus of $50,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $25,000,000 and a dead cap value of $90,000,000.

Derek Carr signed a 4 year , $150,000,000 contract with the New Orleans Saints, including $28,500,000 signing bonus, $100,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $37,500,000. In 2024, Carr will earn a base salary of $1,210,000 and a restructure bonus of $28,790,000, while carrying a cap hit of $12,668,000 and a dead cap value of $62,800,000.

There really isn't that much of a difference between the 3 QBs in terms of overall impact but the salary difference is substantial.
This the exact reason why Jerry shouldnt have signed dak , it was not bargain bin , even 150Mis too high for the record in Playoffs.

There is a reason Noone wanted Baker and Dak was set to be the biggest free agency get of all time. Just because you can't see the difference doesn't mean it's not there.
And just because you can’t see Dak will never take any team to a SB doesn’t mean it’s not true.

That's because their original teams let them walk, and there just wasn't that much available.

The only thing I appreciate about Prescott is him fleecing Jerry for $241 million. Jerry deserves every ounce of heartache and pain!

You guys always deflect. He didn’t even state his opinion on Dak. What he said was Dak was gonna be the highest paid in the league. You can hate the process but don’t hate the messenger.

They need all of it to sign Micah.

Carr or Cousins are worse QBs? You just saw Carr play on the same field as Dak. Who looked better? Forget the stats. Carr was the better player.
They don’t need it. Micah is already on the books for over $20 million next year and a new contract would lower his cap hit. Also they can restructure Dak if they need to. As for who looked better Carr looked better for the start of this season. Dak has looked better for his career. If Carr had been playing like this before he would have gotten $50 million+ as well.

100% guarantee Micah isn't going to be playing on that 20M 5th year option! Not a chance. lol He will hold out just like CD. Bosa makes 34M a year. Micah is probably looking for significantly more than that since the cap has increased since Bosa signed his deal.

Carr was in a bad situation for his entire career. He never had a chance. The Raiders have been a mess. He's always had more upside than Dak. I'm not fooled by Daks 400 yard 4TD performances against the skins and Giants. He's a stat complier who shrinks in big games. There are a lot of QBs in this league on par or better than Dak who just need a change of scenery. We see it with Carr, Mayfield, Geno Smith, and we might even be able to add Sam Darnold to that list soon. Dak just got lucky he landed in Dallas and had a solid OL and a full compliment of offensive weapons from day 1. This 2024 offensive is the worst he's ever had to play with and we are seeing his play suffer as a result. His new contract is the worst decision I've seen jerry make in a long time.

With Tua, Goff, Herbert and Lawrence making $52-$55, $60 isn't a lot.

Most of the complaining about Dak's contract is just a problem with the market.

If Carr had been on the Cowboys teams Dak has been on for the last 8 years, he'd be better than 2-5.
You’re lying to yourself if you actually believe that. Lol Carr is playing on a terrific football team that will destroy us again if we’re good enough to make the playoffs and have to play them again. His offense and running game are ranked 3rd and his defense is ranked 7th.

So Carr, who is 33 and never done anything, has more upside? Lmao.

Remember when Dak threw for 1100 yards w/ a 9/1 ratio against Miami, Seattle, Detroit and Philly too, or do those not count?

I'm not going to get into the nonsense about talent and OL that Dak has had in his career, but fundamentally, you're literally just making the same excuses for other QBs that nobody is allowed to make for Dak lol

No it's not in the large scheme of things.

Not ruing the amount by any means, just annoyed they took so long, maybe intentionally, and paid true market price for a #1 QB if he hit the market.
