Dak should have better numbers, he has a better offense around him than those other QB's.
better numbers? dallas had #1 offense in the league. he was #2 passer, 5th in YPA, 4th in TDs, 10th in passer rating, 4th in QBR

I guess your expectations are that he should be #1 in all of the categories.....right?

blows then all out of the water, nah
my order

Watson-passes eye test has more IT factor
Wentz/Dak coin flip

Goff
what eye test? 20/20 vision? what is this mytical eye test...

its something that when people can't justify their opinion any other way, they use this mytical "eye test"...as if they are such experts to have the eye for the QB and all the intricacies of an NFL QB...

geeshhh...you failed your eye test

No more dumb than paying an average QB like he's the top QB in the league.
yes it is by a long shot.

In one post you managed to underscore how you allow anomalies and not full data sets to form your opinion and your complete ignorance of QB play around the league. Far worse than paying market rate.

What's hurting QB's around the league is bad teams around the player.

Dak and Derek Carr are not very different.

A lot of the tier 2 and 3 QB's are similar and the difference between them is the guys around them.

If you have an elite playmaker then by all means pay them but paying a tier 2 or 3 guy elite QB money is just moronic.

Dalton's can be had all of the time and Dalton isn't some huge drop off from Dak.

Romo, a much better player than Dak, got similar results as Dak.

We would be just replacing a bus driver with another bus driver.

Build the team. Pay the elite guys.

At the very least let Dak hit FA.

It is impossible to have watched Carr or Dalton in the last 24 or so games and have this opinion. Impossible. Dak was so far and away superior to those guys last year it's not even close.

Both can dink and dunk efficiently and neither can extend a play. That's why they are backups.

Let's put them in a simple offense, with a Oline that protects, an elite runner, and WR's getting favorable matchups because of the run game.

Carr can extend plays.

Carr is in maybe the most simple offense in the entire league with a solid OL and a top-10ish RB. He extends plays in the way that, like, Case Keenum does. Run around aimlessly and make a bad throw or checkdown. It's not like he escapes the pocket and can make a play down the field. That ability is what separates the good QBs, and Dak (along with Wilson, Mahomes, Watson, Rodgers, Wentz) is in the group that does that consistently.

Comparing him to Derek Carr is a 2017 evaluation.

How come there's doubt if Carr is the future of the Raiders because of his play? There's none of that with Dak.

Let's put Dak in Oakland trying to run Gruden's offense or put Dak up there in Cincy and let's see how long he lasts.

Derek Carr would be better than Dak if he were in this offense. He would be close to cracking top 5 at his position imo and for sure top 10.

Dalton had his chance and blew it with the Bengals. He played with great, good and bad teams there.

There are questions as to why Carr is even the future at the position. We're not there yet with Dak, if he doesn't accomplish much during his 2nd contract then I will gladly place him in that tier. But right now, he is deserving of a second contract, same thing as Carr and Dalton had at their time. June 2017, the Raiders made Derek Carr the highest paid player in the NFL. He eclipsed Andrew Luck at the time.

Is Derek Carr's cap hit crippling the Raiders 3 years later? We differ here because I do believe Dak is a superior QB than Carr.

His pinpoint passing, pocket awareness and ability to read defenses puts him in a league of his own. We’ll never see another QB in our generation with these abilities.

I wonder how well Dak would've done?

We've seen Dak on some really good teams his first 4 years and has some luxuries that most NFL QB's aren't fortunate enough to have and he only has 1 playoff win to show for it.

Team accomplishments aside.. There is nothing special about him as a player on the field. He's not the reason we win or lose games.

He's a QB that is always stuck in neutral.

Watson has a way better offensive mind as his coach than dak did..Watson also had way better wrs..so not quite...nice try though
I concede your point that Watson had better coaching and WR... And yet Dak has better stats as demonstrated by the OP. What is going to happen now that Dak has better coaching and a better WR? Lamb is a DeAndra Hopkins clone. You're a smart guy. You know the answer.
