I'd certainly hope so, the guy was the #2 overall pick, has a far superior team around him, and has a better coach. But, even with all that, if he's ahead of Rayne, it's not by much.
It remains to be seen whether or not Dak can improve his arm strength and create more downfield offense, but if the Chiefs have taught us anything, you can take a solid quarterback with some major limits, surround him with the right players, and have some success in this league. We need to shore up the defense and try to roll with Prescott for a while. In 2-3 seasons, if he winds up not being able to win the big game, you go from there.

I'm not sure that I attribute the downfield issues to a lack of arm strength as much as I do a poor scheme and lack of weapons to throw to. The only player that you can even send downfield is Dez, and he's inconsistent.

Im sure Wentz is more polished, but he has played 2 of the worst teams in the league. Cleveland isnt fielding an NFL team and chicago isnt a whole lot better.

Hes gonna have a rough time against Pittsburgh next week. That will be an interesting test for him.

Both young QBs have played very well in their first two starts. Wentz has a stronger arm, and has show he can throw deep with accuracy (Dak has too, but only in the pre-season fwiw). However, there's one thing Wentz hasn't done yet that Dak has, which to me is one of the most important things a QB can demonstrate; leading a 4th Quarter come-from-behind, game-winning TD drive on the road. Dak's play on that GW drive was superior to anything I've seen from Wentz so far, and I've been really impressed with Wentz.

As someone said on the radio this morning, is Kirk Cousins the 5th best QB in the NFCE? Hee.

I don't see the obsession with constantly comparing Wentz to Prescott? We'll see how Wentz makes out playing the best team in football this weekend without his best offensive lineman. I think Wentz is really good, I mean the way he is running their offense like a coordinator is something you just don't see in today's football from a rookie that's played no preseason outside of a few snaps, and 1 regular-season game. It's crazy., but I'm not seeing the comparison. I think we'd have a better idea if Prescott was playing with the Eagles offensive line, receivers, and vice versa.

I will say no matter how you slice it Wentz is way ahead of Goff. I don't understand what they were thinking. And Cleveland? Thanks a lot. Now they're busy fending off the media questioning why they passed on him.

Good point. The sad part is we're not really in a place to draft a fast wideout in the top couple of rounds of next year's draft.

Chicago drafted Kevin White for that purpose, and it may or may not work out, but we can't afford to waste a first round pick on that type of project.

It seems as though you're using this as an argument for Wentz? Whether his team was good or not was never a point of contention. It was the opposite. That they play in a division of lesser talent was the issue along with the fact they've won before him, without him (better record last year when he was out ) and as apparent by beating Iowa, after him.

Meanwhile miss st kicked off life after Dak by granting south Alabama their first ever SEC victory. Lol

hmmm................yes to all.

That's never stopped us! We did draft an RB at #4 this year! Not knocking the pick, but man, we had a lot more pressing needs. I think that WR is a huge need for this team, I just don't think highly of Dez as a #1.

I'm sure there will be and I know there is more pressure on a young QB who was selected 2nd overall vs a 4th rd pick

Right now much like it was for Seahawks and Wilson, Dallas has found a very good QB mid rd who comes at a cheap price over the next 4 years

Wentz as a 2nd overall pick is making 6.6 mill a year and Philly had to give up picks to move up to get him
That is the winner for me. Think about what they gave up to get him.

I wish Wentz would have gone to the Browns, I bet they do too, 5 new starting QB's is 5 games.

Can you imagine how bad we would be for the foreseeable future if we gave up that big of a haul? QB play is VERY far from our team's problem.

Even if Dak isn't the future, he has the poise to hold the fort while the organization scouts what they want in the future.

We'd be putting Wentz in a position to fail, because he'd be EXPECTED to be the savior of this franchise as opposed to being a hopeful. Giving up a haul vs taking a guy with a compensatory 4th rounder sets up completely different expectations. Wentz would be in the same unenviable position that Romo has been in and now Dak finds himself in, but with much higher expectations than Dak. He'd have to generate nonstop offense because we compose our defense of chopped liver. With Dak, if he bombs, we only spent a late 4th on him, so he isn't getting paid a ton and we didn't waste a bundle of picks on him, so it'll be much easier to move on if needs be.

This league has also shown that you don't need the most amazing QB in the world to win. You need a successful team and a successful system. The seahawks completely shut down peyton manning who was having a historic season in that first broncos vs the seahawks matchup. It was that Denver defense that won that superbowl last year, and the Broncos beat the Panthers again this year with a rookie QB. If we don't wet the bed with these next picks and go defense, then we could field a team that will be superbowl ready within a few years.

Wentz didn't cost that much

They traded Bradford and got a lot back...that counts too

Now they have no backup and given Wentz's lack of pocket awareness he is not going to last long. Bears were not mounting much of a rush and Wentz got hit and hit hard a lot.

We'll see.. From a talent standpoint there is not many that compare to Wentz. He's got every tool in the box.

I know a lot of you tried to convince yourselves that playing at NDSU was a bigger factor than talent so lets hope somehow you're right.

I was VERY impressed with Wentz last night. I like him a lot. Him and Dak or definitely comparable.

Wentz has a great defense and great coaching. Dak has a great Oline, good run game and better skill position players.

Not sure which is a better friend to a QB.
