Yeah, of course...I agree with that too

It's early but it's difficult for me to decipher which of the two I like more...I definitely don't agree with a lot of the bogus criticism Wentz is getting right now..

No question that Wentz is a player. Most everyone here loved him. But thanks to the stupid trade by the Dolphins the Eagles moved into position to offer a boatload to get him. Once that happened we took the next best player in Zeke and got lucky that Dak was there at the end of round 4.

They got a late first round pick most likely. Could be a good player but not near as big an impact as a top 10 pick they would likely have next year.

2-0 and they're going to pick top 10?

I'll bet on that

I'm calling it right now. If wentz doesn't realize the men in the nfl can lay down the wood and adjust his style, he is an injury waiting to happen

That's my takeaway. He's going to get killed. On three scrambles last night he took unnecessary hits.

But the kid clearly has talent. The Eagles allow him, as a rookie, to make a lot of line calls and he appears to be making a lot of good decisions. He clearly has an arm that can make all throws. He's shown touch, a live arm, etc. And he stands in the pocket and delivers the ball in the face of pressure.

I know some fans want to downplay him but they way I look at it, if Wentz was doing that for us, those same people would be downright giddy.

Skins
Lions
Falcons
Skins

They aren't losing all 4 of these games...no chance...
Skins game is winnable. But divisional road games aren't easy. Could win 1 or 2 out of 10. Still gonna end up 4-8 overall after that. And at best Philly end up 6-10. Probably top 10 overall maybe just outside of it.

Wentz has a stronger, more accurate arm. Dak can learn to read defenses like Romo. Wentz seems to have that right now.

Still, I feel this comparison will be talked about for the next 10 years unless Wentz doesn't learn to get down instead of taking on NFL LBers. That's a win for the Cowboys as we gave up nothing to get Dak while the Eagles gave up a lot.

With the Vikings bailing them out, the Eagles didn't really give up a ton to get Wentz.

Now they have no backup hahaha

What the heck does that matter? You think they are thinking super bowl this year? And even if they were

Who is Rodgers backup?
Wilson?
Luck?

I can go on and on...

Wilson is beat up right now and they just lost to the lowly Rams. Colts are 0-2. None of them hold onto the ball or are oblivious to the rush like Wentz.

Do you have examples of times where Wentz was oblivious to the rush?

Watching Wentz last night I still see the same things I noticed during the draft.
1. He still has the ability to diagnostic defenses and adjust the play call.
2. He sees all the options at passing and find the open receiver.
3. He has the outstanding ability to set his offensive personnel.
4. He can knock the eye out of a squirrel at 80 yards on the run.
5. He is already at a veteran level at game management for 4 quarters.

Dak is still a rookie who needs coaching support
1. He is a pretty good passer but does not have Wentz touch passing ability.
2. He has pretty good awareness of his receivers but sees only to his second maybe third option.
3. Dak is a better runner than Wentz.
4. Dak still needs time studying game tape to notice how defenses scheme and set up for him.

As Rookies at QB I have Wentz as an "A". I have Dak at a B+ or A-. The rest are not up to these two in NFL talent yet (Goff).

OK, shoot!:omg:

I'm not sure where you see any of this honestly.

1. Dak has switched out plays at the LOC, so he has displayed this ability as well.
2. Dak's YPA was light years higher than Wentz's in week 2 and is higher for the season. He has scanned the field multiple times at all levels and it has been discussed by the announcers during the games.
3. They both have shown this. Not sure why Wentz is being made out to be so glamorous here.
4a. No doubt Wentz has a great arm, but Dak has a higher completion percentage and has better YPA. Not much to debate if the arm isn't used for better results than what Dak has produced.
4b. Manning was a tape junkie until he retired from football, so Wentz needs to follow Dak's lead and get in the film room.
5. I honestly don't see where Wentz has shown anything extraordinary while Dak has not, but this is fairly subjective at this stage so no point in debating it.

I really liked Wentz coming out of college. Great prospect. Absolutely could turn out to be better than Dak, heck, should turn out better given where the Eagles drafted him. But, the two games played does nothing to really support your comments above imo.

Next year top 10 pick most likely and a 3rd rounder. Plus picks from this year.

Well they are 2-0 so it might be premature to say they will hand a Top 10 pick to Cleveland next year. They are as good a team at this point as we are. So I guess we'll be picking Top Ten according to you.

They get a #1 back for next year too, granted, it might be a high teens, low 20ish pick.

Again look at the next 10 games. All divisional games on the road. Steelers, @ Lions, @ Commanders, Vikings, @ Cowboys, @ Giants, Falcons, @ Seahawks, Packers, @ Bengals.

Falcons is winnable and @ Lions and @ Commanders are winnable. Rest of em will be pretty big dogs. I don't see em beatin Green Bay or Pittsburgh, probably won't score against Minnesota.

Wentz is said to be a total film junkie.

To me, I think Wentz has looked a bit better but certainly not immensely better. I think he has a better arm than Dak but on the flipside, he seems incapable of not getting himself nailed a couple of times a game.

To me, in the end, it comes down to the teams and right now, unfortunately, I think the Eagles are closer to being a legit contender than we are. They have their franchise QB (at least for now) and so do we (potentially). But they are so much further along on the defensive side of the ball than we are. And I am a big believer in that recipe - quality QB play coupled with a strong defense.

We are so far away from being a strong defense, it's not even funny.

Thank goodness for Dak. If he looked like just another 4th round Qb, the torches and pitchforks would be out for letting Philly swoop in and take Wentz.

These two are probably going to have many a battle for years to come (if Wentz can stay healthy).
