I am not a dak fan but the offense played well the first half and was atrocious the second. Luckily, we had enough of a lead and the defense took care of the rest.

Dak played good. There were passes that were dropped and routes were crisp. lay off or find another team..

I thought Dak played very well in the first half. Not sure if we just called the plays cautiously in the second half, but the offense was definitely not as crisp.
GMFB on NFLN are saying Dallas took the foot off the gas in the 2nd half.

I agree. I did notice we, for the most part, also stopped with a lot of our pre-snap motion and complex route plays.

All that really matter is that we got the W on the road.

I did not really want the contract extension. That being said Dak is our QB and I root for all of our players.

Dak got paid big today but plaid below average. He was a bit to hasty with lots of his passes when they went on an all out blitz. A little disappointed but hoping he can perform better than what we saw to day next week.
The only thing worse than your take is your spelling. Dak is anything but average as shown once again yesterday. Going to be a great season.

Here we go. It is week 1 and the usual "The receivers dropped catchable balls" excuse is being used already
Ok cool.

According to you: How many passes, if any, did Cowboys receivers drop vs the Browns?

This is not a gotcha question, I'm genuinely curious.

Wow, it just will not stop.
Why would it stop?
Not because the man got paid like a TOP TIER QB means he will suddenly play like one.
DAK should know his limitations and should have been smarter. Take less pay and allow the team to build around him.
He is not a player to carry this (or any team for that matter)

Just wait patiently as his career passes by.... finishing with big numbers and stats and ZERO championships.

Not an informed opinion. After getting by 17 at the half and their defense playing lights out MM correctly closed the playbook and started playing conservatively. Why expose your playbook when there’s no need to? Come on man, get with it and understand the flow of the game.

One thing to keep in mind is that in 2023 there were 27 QBs who averaged over 200YPG (Min 100 completions). In week 1 2024 we had just 14 players throw for over 200 yards, just 2 for over 300 yards with 1 game left tonight.

Across the league team passing YPG was just 186 yards this week, and average passing numbers have been going down since 2020. Obviously this is just 1 week, and not a large enough sample size to draw any conclusions on, but the last time the NFL had an average passing yards under 200 per team was way back in 1992. It could be something to keep an eye one if the trend continues over the next couple weeks though.

I think a truly objective observer would come away thinking that they just witnessed a typical Prescott game. He was very impressive at times and very unimpressive at times.

While going conservative with the lead and a dominating defense factors in to the overall production of the offense it has nothing to do with the success or failure of an individual play.

He didn't do what he needed to do. He d is all that he was capable of. You think he threw incomplete passes because that is what he needed to do

What do the other QB's have to do with it. So lamb and typical of the last 8 years
Other QBs have something to do with it because they are being paid a ton of money to throw garbage passes. And what do you mean that's all he is capable of? He can't throw for more than 179 yards? He didn't need to. Last year against the Bills Allen was 7 for 15 and 94 yards in a blowout win against us. Does he suck?

Make no mistake, Dak's not even close to worth 60M a year. It's almost laughable. But he's not as bad as people make him out to be. He just is in week 19, or whenever we play a good team. That remains to be seen going forward this season.

I like to stick to the facts. Dak was good yesterday, but it was not one of his better games. 32-19 179 is okay. In the 2nd half he was 5 of 11 for 23 yards. No one believes that 2nd half performance was special.

He missed some throws and made some really good throws, especially in the first half. But Cleveland is one of the best defenses in the league and the Cowboys did what they had to do.

To be honest, I never thought they would win this game, although I said it depended on how Watson played. I think we all agree that Dak is better than DeShaun Watson who was awful yesterday.

By the end of the season, I think Cleveland will make the playoffs. So the Cowboys already ended the mantra that they can't beat good teams on the road.
