He won 9 games (better than average) in a year without Romo, Moore and Sanchez. So how exactly can't he read defences? Did Romo make all his 2016 reads and throws for him?

• Rocks back with a slight hitch in his delivery when putting zip on the ball
• Can wind up with longer release when going down the field
• Tendency to release the ball a tad early, resulting in a sailing or fluttering pass
• Needs to vary the pace of the ball to match the situation/route (no bullets on screens)
• Location and accuracy are generally poor, makes receivers adjust to off-target balls and minimizes yards after catch
• Makes very poor decisions at times, forces passes into coverage
• Footwork can get sloppy, will fall off his base throwing to his left, loses accuracy/velocity
• Doesn’t possess the heralded “power arm” that he was once rumored to have
• Deep ball accuracy is lacking, touch passing needs a compass
• Does not throw with anticipation, poor timing leads to late throws to all areas of the field

That’s his college scouting report. Some of those things change over time.

Dak has improve on his ability to read defenses since college. He still needs to keep improving. But he has progressed in that area.

Too bad he’ll be asked to work miracles from an empty gun on 3rd and 6 with 5 receivers running verticals into a deep zone or 15 yard curls in the face of a blitz.

We have the worst coaching staff in the league, and the primary culprit it Jason Garrett and his stale, 1994 Cowboys offense when defensive linemen were just offensive linemen who could tackle better.

While I don't have a ton of confidence in Dak on the filed, I do have confidence that he will put in the effort necessary to be successful. You can't ask for more from him than that!
