Dak has been outstanding for a rookie. But I will say this you want to be playing your best ball in December. Maybe he peaked to soon. I love what Dak has done but there's no doubt this offense is more explosive with Romo in (right now). These sub 200 yard passing games will bite us if he doesn't turn it around.

That's what makes this next game so interesting. If they get out played again that makes 3 straight and I think you can say at that point they are playing their worst football of the season.

these next 3 games are against playoff opponents. It should tell us a lot about where our team is at. I don't want a one and done in the playoffs . It would be an epic fail.

He's done well, never said he didn't . But in the playoffs we'll need more. That is all I'm saying. He has regressed the last couple games. It's a valid question being asked. If he was hot right no one would be nervous. But many are asking if he's hit a rookie wall. It's interesting cause you have one of the best pure passers on the bench right now. So I ask myself if Dak struggles for another game or 2 do we put in Romo and take this offense to another whole lvl or just stick with Dak regardless of his sub 200 yard games?

Yes we need more from everyone but damn Dallas is putting up big points outside of the Vikes who have a very good defense who was 4-1 at home before Dallas came in. Dallas did have 2 turnovers and 10 penalties in that game that hurt them a lot but it does not change the fact that Dallas has avg big points vs the top defense. Ravens, Pitts and Minn are the top defenses in the league we have beaten them. As for Romo I love Romo but no you don't not shake this team up and put him in. This is Dak team and unless he gets hurt Romo is not going to be starting. I will add while Romo is more of a risk taker there are things Dak does that Romo can't

I'm not so sure. I don't know what's going on in Garrett or jj's head. We go 0-2 in the next 2 and Dak doesn't throw for more than 200 you can bet Romo is starting vs the Lions. I like Dak but I want what's best for the team this year I'm hungry for a 6th Super Bowl. I pray Dak comes out and throws for 300 and 3 scores vs the Giants. We'll see...

What's really ridiculous is you think a guy who can't move around anymore, can't take a basic NFL hit, has played a total of about 3-4 games over the last 2 seasons not only the best player but by far. And during last season, he looked pretty meh. 5 TDS and 7 picks. Dak has 2 picks in 12 games. As a rookie, Not a vet as Romo was last year.

And if you'd take your glasses off and read what I posted you'll see that I clearly stated that a healthy Romo was the better player. And that is indeed the only thing in my opinion worth legitimately debating. His health is a concern.

The OP been making this argument against Dak to promote Romo in other threads. Go figure.

I did put this in another thread but I thought it was a good overall topic. I don't think I have promoted starting Romo over Dak in another threrad though even though I would not generally be against it.

The 2 game stretch is the first time I have noticed Dak consistently having a hard time finding open receivers and that is a compliment to Dak.

I have tried, to keep a good balance between my thoughts about Romo and Daks performance which I believe has been really good

Please share because I do not remember any read options in the last 2 games

You weren't counting only read option keepers. You were counting all plays that are included as Dak's "runs" in the stats and pretending that they were all called passes, which is obviously not the case. At least five of his "runs" in the past two games were not pass plays, and one other was a run/pass option on an isolated DB at the goal line -- the DB covered the receiver, so Dak kept it for an easy TD. Yep, they really figured out Dak on that play.

I can't help but wonder if you'd be equally as critical if Romo were the one owning those stats. Would you find fault with him as well?

If you look at my post I did mention where Commanders in the past have been difficult to throw on for the Cowboys

Why are you so obsessed with 300 yard passing games? You must be like 14 years old or something. The win is the most important thing. If he does that, then he does. And we should NOT go back to Romo because of reasons' I've explained previously.

I guess we will see but when Romo hit a tough patch did the Cowboys bench him? No and I would not do that to Dak. 300 yards means nothing, it is a meaningless number. The number that counts are wins it is putting up points and as I just showed he has done that the last 4 teams all of whom were and still are in the playoff hunt. Pitt, raven both 7-5 as well as Minn and Washington and Cowboys have beaten them as well and outside of Minn Dallas scored no less than 27 points. My god I don't know any fan base who would be acting like this. He has helped lead this team to a franchise record of 11-1 with 11 wins in a row and you want to replace him? LOL

WOW, 300 yards do not win game, Romo has put up a ton of 300 yard games and how many playoff wins or SB? it is not about how many yards you throw for.

Funny how all of the Cowboys wins were vs bottom of the barrel teams yet it seems many that the Cowboys beat are in contention for the playoffs. NY was unable to go into Pitt and Win yet Dallas did

TIL I watched a different Commanders game than the OP.

Thread title should read "Daks past 1 game". Counting runs as a pass attempt give me a break.

I like Dak for the future but I think if we want to win the super bowl this year. Romo is our guy
I guarantee you if the players in that locker room felt this way, Romo wold be playing right now.

I will just go with what the players are supporting. After all, they know better than anybody typing away in this forum or any other.

I blame it on fantasy football. All that matters is wins. I don't care what he does as long as we keep winning.

Yep I don't have the statistical research tools to verify which plays were actually scramble versus a run/pass option. How do you know 5 were a run/pass option?

In general though it does not matter because he ran 3.3 times per game in the first 10 games and 7 times per game in the last 2 so the basis in my argument does not change because I do not believe the coaching staff is calling more run plays or run pass option plays for Dak now than then. That would defy logic for a developing QB.
