The Ray Lewis trial was a weird one though. The only thing it turned out any of them were guilty of was destroying evidence as even after Ray Lewis agreed to testify about what happened (against the other two) the other 2 still got off entirely because of self defense. The fact that self defense could be established is why none of the 3 went to jail.

The DA wanted the big fish and Ray Lewis was a whale. The problem is they had no evidence that connected him to the murders.

I said even before the trial, the state never should have tried him for double murder. But the Fulton County DA's office tried to nab the big fish (Lewis) when it was clear Lewis had not murdered anyone. They should have charged him with interfering with the investigation of a murder case or trying to conceal evidence.

But this is what happens when overzealous prosecutors try to hang their case on a celebrity when the evidence (and charges) doesn't favor the state.

The NFL is going to touch this because Kelvin Joseph is already involved since he's on video showing attacking the innocent victim, plus being with the group at a club/bar who have been 100% identified as the culprits who shot the innocent man.

You call that attacking an innocent victim? That was a scuffle and you really can’t tell what Joseph was doing. I don’t think a punch was landed. Nobody was identified as a culprit. Nobody has been arrested. Joseph is currently an innocent bystander.

Most likely in that case, they would not pursue charges if he cooperates. They are more interest in catching the shooter than those who may have been with him. If he witnessed it, hopefully he's smart enough to fess up.

And if he snitches, he'll likely have a target on his back.
That's why despite the "you've changed" claims people lodge at wealthy famous people once they hit the "big time," you've got to separate yourself from your "posse" if that posse is up to no good.
You just have to get away from that element.

What do the circumstances indicate? That he was there with the group that got into the altercation with the other group and that shots were fired from an SUV, killing a member of the second group. Those things do not indicate that Joseph was either the shooter or even in the vehicle. They don't rule it out, but there are a lot of unknowns here at this time. That the police consider him a person of interest indicates that they believe there is a correlation between the group that got into the fight and the SUV, which the police pretty much has said.

Since Joseph was in the group, they'll want him to tell them who else was part of the group so they can round them up to question them. He'll also have to give his account of the encounter and what happened afterward, including where he went, with whom, etc. He can't be ruled out as a suspect since he was with that group until the information that he provides is investigated. They don't want to call him a suspect, either, though because they have no proof of his involvement beyond the fact that he was with that group of people.

It would have probably been best not to say anything about him being a person of interest because it causes suspicion like we've seen in this thread. But it's hard to keep media from finding out these things.

You're spot on we don't know how this will end up or his actual involvement in the incident. But if he was part of the group that fired shots there's basically 3 scenarios.

1) He was there during the initial dispute but then separated and left in another car or later on. This is the best case scenario.

2) He was in the car, which even if he wasn't the shooter would likely make him an accessory or accomplice. Texas is an interesting state where even an accomplice can face similar charges to the murderer and even end up on death row.

3) He was the shooter, career and life over.

Then again Laell Collins was a person of interest too that ended up being nothing. At this point mine as well add CB to the list of needs in 2 weeks just to be safe.

Yes, this is true that he did have a duty to report the crime. This is something the DA, I suspect, will try to use to get him to talk. However, the defence attorney would argue that he didn't want to be outed as a snitch.

That, is an empty argument to the court. No one cares whether he wants to be a snitch or not. If he hinders the investigation, he will most likely be charged.

And it is still unknown the level of his involvement. But he did not have to stay in that vehicle and go hunting. He chose to put himself at risk and the Cowboys better not ignore that.

The TKDV necklace is a giveaway that's it's him in the video, but it doesn't mean he's guilty of any wrongdoing. Hanging out with the wrong people, though. I'm sorry a young person is dead, but let's wait for more details and hope for the best.

Unfortunately, if he's in the car with the person who fired shots that killed the victim, he can be charged with murder too, especially if he doesn't cooperate with investigators.

Joseph put himself in a precarious position. They know he was with the group they're looking to question. He's a public figure so eventually they're going to hunt him down. And if he doesn't cooperate with investigators, they can charge him with murder if they can establish that he was in the vehicle from which the shots were fired.
