We'll just agree that I'm right rather than bothering with the whole disagree thingy.
Even in the spirit of agreement, I can't do that. Not on this subject.

Jerry's an excellent owner.
Jerry the GM on the other hand.....
Exactly.
Hate to say this, but at some point he will considered for the HoF.
I'd go so far as to say members of the HoF panel that never voted for a Cowboy will vote for him.
If it's not obvious, his performance as GM should preclude his induction.
Yes, the real (not just salary cap) dollars that Jerry has spent over the years is something that wouldn't happeen with most NFL owners. That includes mega contracts with mega up front money and spending big money on assistant coaches, etc..Just a thought from a Cowboy fan living in Missouri. Much as JJ gets ragged on at least he cares. I live a state with Chief and Ram fans and let me tell you the Rams owner does not care. In fact I bet they leave for L.a.
The Chiefs are cheap and they never have drafted a starting Qb in years and as long as Hunt family puts butts in seats he will never spend money.
I taught Navy JROTC. I also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night, so maybe I can help. But then again, you may be beyond help...
Did you guys enjoy those 3 Super Bowls? Thank the man who hired Jimmy and allowed him to do his thing.
Let me play the Devil's Advocate with this bait....at times I will probably sound like Jerry Jones himself.
I am alone am responsible for those three SBs - me.
I found Jimmy.
Hell, Barry Switzer deserves more credit than Jimmy - what did he do in Miami?
There are a dozen teams that have won 1-3 SBs since 1997, BUT WE ARE THE GREATEST TV SHOW! HOW ABOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!
/end sarcasm
Jerry had a role, but broke up a winning formula. No one person can win a SB today, even Al Davis in his last 20 years.
Jerry knows the energy business, the front office in sports, but he did delegate at one time on football matters....the SB wins stopped shortly after he stopped doing that. Homers attempting to suggest Jerry was mostly responsible for the day-to-day football decisions that built that dynasty, only have to honestly look at what's happened since to know he didn't
Uh, yea. Like it or not, he did own the team in the 90's when they won three SB's. Look, I'm not a Jones apologist by any means, but he's not the worst owner in the league, not even close. So yes, we could do worse, as hard as that is for some to believe.

There isn't an owner in sports I wouldn't rather have.
This is how I should have responded: So it would have happened without Jimmy?
Why has he been unable to come close to the success of 1992-1996 since?

OK. I live in Marshfield, work at Bass Pro Corporate Office in Springfield. There's quite a few Dallas fans in this neck of the woods.
Clever...

Because there's other NFL teams who also want to win Super Bowls?
Why did Jimmy fail with the Dolphins?
