Why would he not walk away? Are we going hyperbole on his health where if he's breathed on, his spinal cord will explode?
give me a break.......no pun intended

we all know the serious risks Romo faces after multiple surgeries and breaks

he is either a target or a jinx

Stupid responses are even worse,,, everything I posted was true.
Sorry if your love fest interferes with basic logic.
No not really.
Your post was fairly moronic, actually.

Did not know you before, but now Ill have a hard time seeing a post by you without discrediting before I even read it...due to lack ofrespect for your football knowledge.

No worries, animosity's clown-like posts are way worse than yours.

I am very sad today. I was hoping he would keep playing. Besides Roger, the most fun player to watch I have seen on the Cowboys. Just enjoyed playing the game and it showed. He was a warrior. I hope this all works out for him, he deserves it. The bad thing is now, I have to watch the AFC some.. crap.

Again - I would never enter a debate about this stuff with you guys because it makes you look silly but are you serious?

You saying that Kitna was Romo's equal because he won 5 games? 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in the 9 games he started for the Cowboys, compiling a 4-5 record and a career high 88.9 passer rating in the process. THAT"S your answer? Really?

Kitna was so good he was replaced by third-stringer McGee in the season finale against the Eagles. Yet this is the guy you cart out to show the world that it was Romo's fault we didn't win. Yeah, Kitna was going to take us to the playoffs, Division wins, Championship games and a Super Bowl - all because he won 5 games one season.

In your words - screw that and screw these ridicules comparisons - yet in a way, it exposes the thought process. In fact, I'm pretty sure most on the boards would just say let it go - being dragged down to the gutter with this kind of stuff is a waste of tme.

Obviously you cant read. Let me try this again. You said 4-12 without Romo. I pointed out Kitna won more games with the same exact team than Romo did that year. I am not saying Kitna was a great QB, I am simply pointing out the FACT that a backup QB won more games than Romo.

So obviously this team being 4-12 at best is absolute ********, and so was your point. Not hard to understand, is it?

Now, if you said the Colts were 4-12 without Manning, then that would be correct. Colts won a Super Bowl with Manning, and sure as heck more than 2 wildcard playoff. They were a playoff team every year with Manning. Cowboys were not a playoff/Super Bowl team with our without Romo. Can you refute any of this or are you going to blindly ignore all these facts again? i am assuming it will be the latter.

Walking away is the key term....... if he goes for the 14m he might not walk away.....he has made over 128m in his career and getting 2-3m to talk on Sundays instead of getting planted is a good deal

You also have to remember that his NFL pension will be pretty hefty and all that medical care money he will need will come
from the NFL. I think Tony will have annuities and business interests that will feed him and his family nicely.

Just out of curiosity, do they need to send Romo to broadcaster school for a bit or does he go out and wing it?

Listening to sports radio, the fans already consider the season over with Tony's retirement

My skeptical rational side is screaming, this is April and it's all about leverage. Until there is a public announcement by CBS that a contract is signed, and until we know what opt-outs are in that contract, I'm unmoved.

If reports/tweets are accurate, they're saying he'll start in the studio, which self-evidently is where everyone gets to wing it.

Tony is not hurting for money.
He gets to walk away instead of limping away.
He gets to work 3 or 4 days a week at CBS, grow up and raise his boys and still enjoy talking football.
He doesn't have to train or wodry about camp either.
He was a Cowboy for life too. Something nor many players at that level do anymore.
He last pass was a touchdown.
He was passed by a young man that may be on his level as a person off the field and as a leader on it in Dak.
I'm glad he got the #1 spot at CBS. His personality will actually lead me to watch some CBS games this year.

That's quick and well thought out, but you failed to support anything.
Yes , I'm pissed that Romo made that bad decision, you don't see other franchise QBs making that stupid a mistake.
In a pre season game.
That play ended his career, if you cant see that than you are the fool,, blind fool.
No other franchise QB is even allowed to think that way,, in that situation.
Thank you Tony for all the great years of not quite accomplishing anything,, you were a great warrior,, sometimes that's just the way careers work out.
Facts are the fact,,, its not about love of the person to the true fan,,, its about putting rings on the finger,,, many will never see that now, but in ten years, I'm sure you will reflect and realize.

Yes. This. Completely out of character and inconsistent with what we've seen and heard from him all this time to think he's making a decision out of a health concern... ie, unless, again, I keep saying this, there is another shoe yet to drop, and in that case, it would be new revelation that doctors are telling him that breathing on his spinal cord indeed hazards a big bang.

This is only if Tony retires and the Cowboys maintain his rights on reserve/retired list. If they do that I don't
think they can designate him a June 1st cut. They will have to eat the entire cap hit this year.

How is this cherry picking? You said 4-12 for the most part without Romo. Romo won ONE game in 2010. The backup won 5 or 6. Then Dak comes in this year, and in one year he makes it as far as Romo ever did in 10 years. Some people just dont like facts I guess.

In what way is this true in any sense?

I figured with Romo back to playing golf after several years away due to back concerns that he had to be considering retirement.
