CBS reportedly has outbid FOX for his services, hence Phil Simms will get the boot. Aikman and Buck will continue on at FOX. Tony won't be gradually eased into his broadcasting role but will be introduced somewhat "green" into his broadcast gig. His long term experience as an NFL QB should stand him in reasonably good stead, however. Like most of us, I'll really be looking forward to seeing him doing his thing with CBS.

He also has the TV/celeb experience from dating Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood

Good, screw him.

I'm going to miss exposing the worst of the worst knowledgeable football fans anywhere. I used to love owning you guys for so long to the point of never being able to respond - it made my day.

I'm going to miss the 5% ers, posting ridicules opinions who thought they knew more than HOF QB's, GM's and players, who thought that some magical reincarnation of Roger would somehow carry this team's talent level to Super Bowls with a 30 ranked pass defense every year, and who believe that a QB can alone win championships.

I'm going to miss them embarrassing themselves with drive-by comments, then scurrying away trying to defend their drive-by comments.

And then I'm going to enjoy their angst when Romo goes into the Ring Of Honor with the rest of the greatest of all Cowboys because the man responsible for putting them in knows he failed him his entire career.

And finally - I can now bypass every post the 5%ers make in the future because they have lost all credibility on any football-related knowledge because they will turn on Dak just like Romo if we don't win one soon.

the best thing for him - he is an was on the down side - I think he would have gotten hurt again this year

so he can walk for maybe ten years

that golf is not helping him either

Yeah don't forget to mention those great defenses that made all those crucial stops over the las ten years including losing a game we scored 48 points in. Those teams for the most part were 4-12 and Romo could never overcome Jerry's ego.

I'll have more for the clown show 5% ers below.

4-12? You sure about that? I remember a 50 year old backup QB winning about 5 times more games than Romo did with the exact same team in 2010.

LOL -- I'm confident that "loverboy" image won't hurt his image one iota. I think his effervescent personality is also virtually a lock to endear him to many millions of intrigued viewers, imho.

There's a real possibility he might show up at the Master's this week. Tony also knows golf.

Another favorite theme - cherry picking games over an entire career with stupid observations that don't deserve comment but since it's that last time--

Yeah - I'm really sure of that and that 50-year-old QB was 36 who could never hack it as more than a backup. That post sums it up. A such incredibly poor 7th grade responses that exposes the 5%ers.

I waiting for the liar, liar, pants on fire debate.

I'm glad he's retiring. I was dreading seeing him putting on a uniform again, only to not finish a full game and get injured. At this point, it's about quality of life after football. And I already feel he will be one of those retired players doing poorly health-wise a decade from now.

Additionally, I hope he continues to workout and stay in shape. It is the only way he'll be able to keep his body from falling apart.
