Point differential
Eagles +138
Cowboys + 131
Niners +128
Lions +2 (yes, the Lions literally have the 4th best point differential)

Perhaps someone's eyes were only looking during certain games and not others.
Maybe he should have qualified it by saying "amongst the contenders".

Just going by the eyeball test, Dallas looks to be the 3rd best NFC team judging by Dallas' slow starts and how consistent the Eagles are on both sides and how dominant the 49ers defense is, along with their efficient offense unless the Cowboys really flip a switch and show out against the Eagles on Xmas eve finish the season strong, it may be a short Playoff stint.
Sadly you are correct.
I would be happy with one playoff win.
It would be a great stepping stone for next season.

That's not the game i would be worried about....eagles may be resting some of their guys in this one with possibly the division clinched by then. So i definitely would not be shocked.
Eagles can't rest anyone as long as the Cowboys beat the Jags. If the Cowboys win out and the eagles lose one other game besides the Cowboys, Cowboys win the division.

The Cowboys won't face either of those teams in round 1.

The Cowboys lost to the Eagles because Rush threw 3 INTs. The Eagles defense gave up a much higher yards/carry, more passing yards and higher completion rate. Dallas had 4 sacks vs zero for Philly.

Eyeball test huh. I’m glad you and others have basically written the Cowboys off. There were even some calling for the Cowboys to tank after the first quarter of the first game.

One Eagles upset combined with a Cowboys 50 burger changes all of that.

That's how volatile the NFL can be.

I tend to agree, in large part because you know exactly you are going to get from those other two teams week to week while we are much more unpredictable. People are so quick to point out that number KC did on SF but they’ve been absolutely crushing teams since that game. On paper we have the talent to compete with both squads, but they’re going to have to prove it on the field..im not convinced.
We’re doing hang the talent on paper. Our DL and linebackers outside Micah aren’t even in the same zip code as SF. And Hurts and the OL and Brown are far better than us, though our RB tandem is top tier. Our CB situation isn’t good. We’re a very good team, but not on the level ad SF and Philly. We can definitely beat both of them, but they have better rosters.

Call me a hater but that’s what my eyes tell me.

After the beating we took from the Texans, I wouldn’t even put us at 3rd. The Commanders currently look better than we do. Giants and Vikes are falling apart but we won’t meet up with them unless some crazy circumstances go down.

I just checked and the Cowboys are 10 and 3 which gives them the 2nd best record in the NFC.

Me ruffian, did you see a flicker of hope when Garappolo went down?
Only to see a wunderkid take his place.

I see it
Philly
Dallas/49ers

Dallas has gotten to play the worst of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Philly, too.

So why even watch the games? Looks like you have the champs crowned already….

This isn’t new news.

Philly and SF have been the cream of the crop in the NFC for weeks. More talented rosters.
