I would much rather lose that game and win the divisional round. Let them win the 24th and get overconfident against us.
That's one way of thinking. Hurts has not done well vs Dak so it might be a confidence builder for Hurts to win. I'd rather Dak win on the 24th and than worry about these games one at a time.

I have a lot of respect for the Eagles. They were very smart taking advantage of the rookie contract of their QB and using that money to assemble basically an all-star team. They know their window of opportunity closes when Hurts's contract is up. At that point they will have to pay him 25% - 30% of their CAP spaces like all the other QBs. In the meantime they have used their money to fill in all the gaps on offense and defense.

I have a lot of respect for the 49ers too. Their defense is the real deal. They can get after the QB with just 4, and they can stop the run. I don't think Purdy is going to remain the miracle QB he has been his first few games though. I think teams will figure him out after a few games and then their offense will struggle.

It is hard for us Cowboys fans to envision the Cowboys team as on par with the Eagles and 49ers. That's historical bias. When healthy the Cowboys are a really good football team. The problem is, the 49ers and Cowboys are not healthy. The Eagles get Goedert back this week, or next at the latest, and they are otherwise healthy.

But I do think the Cowboys present teams like the Eagles with some major problems. The Cowboys have a good offensive line and they can rush the passer with their speed on defense. If we looked at the Cowboys for the first time ignoring their history of failure in the 2nd half of seasons and in the playoffs, we would put them in the same category as the Eagles and 49ers.

Last I checked, the Eagles have quite a few unimpressive performances on their resume as well. But no one wants to overanalyze their flaws. It's as if games vs the Lions, Commanders, Cardinals and such never happened.

Just going by the eyeball test, Dallas looks to be the 3rd best NFC team judging by Dallas' slow starts and how consistent the Eagles are on both sides and how dominant the 49ers defense is, along with their efficient offense unless the Cowboys really flip a switch and show out against the Eagles on Xmas eve finish the season strong, it may be a short Playoff stint.

Didn't see this kind of post the week after the Eagles eeked out a 1 point win over the Colts, or were taken by the Texans to the 4th quarter with only a 4 point margin.

Same for the Niners following losses to the Falcons and Bears.

Stating the obvious but too often ignored for the sake of celebrating or beating down a team (ours or otherwise)...

Teams do not play at a single level of performance... there is a range of performance, higher and lower. Which is why, one day you might be slobberknocking the Vikings, and another day you may be pulling out a last minute win over the Texans.

So, who is "best" is only a temporary crown in any given week, and is always subject to reassessment. Who is best right now doesn't matter. It really doesn't.

And... finishing the thought...

It's futile/useless to project what team is going to win the Super Bowl. It is only productive to speak in terms of what teams are capable of getting to the final test and emerging triumphant. Year after year, the teams that, at this point of the season, were thought to be only capable ended up making it to big game... see Bengals, Cincinnati... while others thought to be the juggernaut by many sat at home watching... see Chiefs, KC.

Have you seen Dak and his turn overs lately? Not sure why Rush gets hammered but Dak gets a pass and excused "it was the receivers fault". Dak needs to show up and we will win.
They can't recover when Rush throws INTs because the scheme is too conservative.

Kellen Moore is much more aggressive with Dak and they can come back from mistakes.

I won't even argue with this simply for the fact that we NEVER freaking know what Cowboys team shows up on Sunday. If the squad we know they can be shows up this week and next, i'd put them at #2 behind SF.

It means they’ve performed worse against a much easier slate? It is only pointless to someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about which is why you’re flipping out about it. I’m sorry my post upset you. Maybe think about why it would?

The Niners team that started the season is different then the one now and same with the Cowboys. Its all about how good the current team is. Clearly you dont understand that or much about football if your ONLY analysis is some perceived schedule nonsense.

Do you realize the Niners on on their 3rd QB of the season? Have you even watched him or the Niners play lately? Does that factor into your laughable analysis? How about the defense? Injuries? Its like Im having a conversation with a layman.

Do you even realize that the Niners started out 3-4 and have now won their last 7 in a row? In that winning streak the defense has vaulted to #1 in the NFL and is only giving up an average of 11 points per game?

Does any of that factor into your analysis or just some laughable schedule quirk? Come on back to the conversation when you learn a little more about the game.

Lets get real. If you told most Cowboys Fans before the season that in Mid December they would be the number 3 team in the NFC they would have said you had been drinking and fallen off a cruise liner and landed on your head. Its already been a good season.

Just last season they hammered Philly on Jan 8th. Unless you are a new Cowboys fan, you should know this.

Do I win a prize?

We played all our starters against their entire backup unit. Gardner Minshew and company still put 26 points up against our starting defense. You should know this. Beating down their scrub unit didn’t do us a bit of good, we went one and done the following week. By the way, no prize for you.

Your negativity is a real buzzkill, man. I see the Cowboys needing the Eagles to lose one game plus losing to the Cowboys on Christmas eve and we have the NFC 1 seed. The 49ers are smoke and mirror fake good with a third-string QB that will crumble under the pressure of the playoffs. That's my eyeball test. How do you like that? You scared?
