This isn't what we need.....
3 yards and a cloud of dust.
If you desire a mid level talent at RB then just draft one. At least with a draft pick you could always be pleasantly surprised by his unexpected awesomeness(Thomas Rawls).

Alfred Morris, Forte, Demarco..... they certainly want to find a grinder...

He had that one good year in the read offense with RG, he might be good enough to get about 200 yards in a season for us but not carry the load for 16 games. Draft Zeke and call it a day.

I would beg to differ I have watched ALL HIS GAMES. His running style is fit for our system. When RG III played they didn't have the offensive weapons and O-line the Cowboys have now. I would like to see him in Dallas very much so.

Good. He's a good guy and plugs a hole temporarily. I actually liked Turbin better for us for that hole, but whatever.

He ain't keeping us from drafting a RB, though. No way.

The Cowboys don't need someone to carry the load for 16 games. They need a solid compliment to McFadden. It's easlity worth looking at Morris to see if he might be that guy.

If we go with McFadden as our #1 our run game is in trouble. Yes, McFadden had 1k yards but that was one of the worst 1k yards I ever have seen especially as a Cowboy. McFadden did not make 1 big play that affected the outcome of the game. We can not lean on McFadden this year.

P.S. I think I counted McFadden for roughly 12 broken tackles last year. Troy Hambrick 2.0 is all I see in Mcfadden

So you think they will carry 4 RB's? Maybe 5 if they add a FB? Tough to do that with the holes on the DL and one will likely be inactive on game day.

Not necessarily but a veteran RB who is cheap gives them some options in case the rookie gets hurt or stinks or McFadden gets hurt.

Morris probably comes cheap and if camp shows the rookie has potential, they could probably just then cut Morris.

Rather have Zeke, but not entirely against this either. We need options in TC.
Last year going into TC we thought we had a glut of RB's. And still some fans wanted to bring in more RB's.

The only one that turned out was the one who many didn't want in DMC.
We had Ryan Williams, McFadden, Randle, and several others, Gus Johnson who many liked, Malena, and I know I am forgetting a few.

People cried to get Cristine Michael, and they did. Turbin was out there, and brought him in.

So here we are again. McFadden and Dunbar coming off an injury. Malena still hanging around. Rod Smith of which we need to see more of.

So yes, bring in Morris, or who ever, but still draft a RB, or 2.
I actually don't know how I feel, as if Morris will be good or not, or washed up or not. But willing to see what he has left. If contract is good as when it don't cost much. But that goes without saying.

I think you are way off base here. It seems like you are blaming losses on MsFadden. How can a 1000 yard season be bad. How do you compare a worse season?
There were many plays that affected the outcomes of games, like the defense giving up 6 of those losses easily.

I think people might need to come to the realization that the Cowboy sDO truly value their offensive line and probably aren't drafting Elliot or Henry.

If Alfred wants more than a bag of Doritos and min salary say adios and move on. He's not
all that and there are much better and cheaper options all the way to the 5th round of the draft.

Never blamed our losses on McFadden, we all know Romo was hurt with no back up plan. McFadden just does not get them tough yards, he has no patience for the hole to open up and he cannot break tackles. Like I said a 1000 times before - "the Dallas Cowboys always draft their star RBs"

The dude is done.

I'm pretty sure I have a better burst and top speed than him now.

No.

Why exactly do you think he is done? I don't see anything that says he is done. His numbers are in decline, but I would say the team itself is responsbile for that. His 1,600 yard season the Commanders were a good team going 12-4 and RGIII's rookie season. That helped him, but I haven't seen anything that suggest he is done. Hell, he has only been in the league for 4 freaking years!!!

I agree with you.

He would do well in Dallas.

He's one-cut, north-south runner.

He'd be a decent pickup.

How many folks said McFadden was "done" and all he did was run for 1,000 yards and averaged 4 and half yards per carry.

I agree that we need bodies....but your long list of RB's we went through last year just proves the point even more than we need a real RB. Not a stable of mid level also rans.
While depth is important....its not so great when you have a entire roster of RB's that are really only all "depth" backs.
McFadden, Alfred Morris, Dunbar.....these guys should be fighting for a position as "depth" to our real back....Maybe it will be that way...But it doesn't look like it.
