***Dallas trades Fasano and Akin to Miami for 4th round pick (#100)

fasano was drafted way too early and akin was in trouble once we signed zach. this is a good trade.

Jerry is definitely up to something, now that I think about it, I can see moving Akin, but even though I don't like Fasano, there is a sneaky suspicion that something is in the works already before draft day.

Im going to holdoff judgement on the trade for now but i tell you, something big is going down tomorrow...GO COWBOYS:starspin

Charlene Williams(sp?) was on ESPN the other day saying her sources said expect the Cowboys to draft a QB and a TE. I was like, WHY? Now i know why. She also mentioned Fred Davis.

I believe that he was one of the TEs invited to Valley Ranch. However I have no clue where he is projected to go.

File this under "making the best of a bad situation." But it in no way excuses the incompetence that landed them in Dallas in the first place. Fergy, Akin, and Fasano are gone, and not just for cap reasons.

I understand Akin was expendable and Fasano in a log jam under the circumstances, but that doesn't mean this even approaches a good deal.
By expendable if you mean about to be cut this summer, you are right.

Fasano is a career backup with the Cowboys no matter when we drafted him.

Let's see what Jerry has planned for this pick before we write the final chapter on this trade.

Akin was going to be released, and Fasano, between being injured and dropping passes was being phased out

We recouped 26 spots in the 4th round that we lost.

Why are we complaining again?

You can buy me a beer when we get McFadden tomorrow ;)

If we draft Dmac before the 10th pick I'll buy you a ticket to a Cowboy game of my choice.

love the trade, because i think curtis is a potential stud and already as good if not better then fasano. akin wasnt getting any playing time here.

Jerry is loading up for some crafty draft day moves. So do you all still have total disbelief in my sig or what? Holla at me. I know I said holla at me after the draft but you're welcomed to give in now. The scenario doesn't look as crazy as it did 6 weeks ago does it?

Part 1 complete (pacman in hand)

Part 2 due tomorrow (McFadden in hand)

Holla back.

Great trade Jerry! Keep up the good job. Got rid of one player who sucked last year and the other one was decent at best. Curtis can replace Fasano without much drop in talent. The reason Fasano was even drafted was when the cowboys were going to do the two tight end system. Now we have more control of the draft and have given more playing time to Carpenter as well. Opens two spots in the roster for the draft picks. Got to love Jones. Can't satisfy everyone, because there's always those who whine about everything.

Yeah, think we will use that pick to move up in 2nd to grab a RB. (CJ, Jamal)

It's Corona man!

What would you expect the competition to say?

How else are you gonna kick those 'field goals' on the beach?

For those against this trade.......wonder how many offers for higher piks Jerry turned down for these 2 journeyman players

Akin had 116 tackles for the Jags in 2003 and 96 in 2004. He clearly is a better player in the 4-3.

Fasano is a 2nd round pick who everyone knows was buried behind a Pro-Bowler.

Neither of these guys are 'journeymen' (perhaps yet).
