***Dallas trades Fasano and Akin to Miami for 4th round pick (#100)

I was ready to part with Ayodele before the offseason started and by the way we were trying to trade him so much, he was probably going to be cut anyway. Fasano was a bad pick in the first place, especially after we failed to utilize him.

I'm happy they were traded, but I can't help but feel we could have gotten more. On the whole though, happy to move on. We take someone like Chevis Jackson with that pick and I'll be much happier.

In situations like that it's mostly just the bounce of the ball Imo. Not trying to downgrade what Curtis did, which was huge, but he got a good bounce.

Some people just tighten up in situations like that but Curtis changed in at full speed and cleanly picked that ball - not many people can do that.

That 3rd is worth a ton this year considering it's the #1 pick on day 2.

Day 2 starts with round 3 now. But I get your point.

At least get their damn 3rd rounder. They got two players. Two friggin' starters. For a 4th round pick. Just insane.

Eventually I'll get over this.

Another poster pointed this out, and I thought it was a good point.

When players with very little trade value (Fergy, Ayodele, Fasano) are not wanted, they are usually cut.

I think it's good we got what we got. It gives us more ammo on draft day.

There's a ton of lobbying in that war room, especially the later in the draft you get. As Jerry is so fond of saying, "it's a fluid situation" so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of teams are totally undecided come round 4 and just have to wait and see who's there before making the final decision, which may come after a lot of consternation.

Maybe... But I don't see what would change just because you got a night's sleep.

Hey, at least now this will only be the second round of the day. They can still re-think things based on how the first two rounds went, if they want to, and it's only the 35th (or however many with comp picks) selection of the day.

And on Curtis... He also caught that jump ball (vs. the Eagles? Can't remember) in the endzone. That was a very athletic play where he went high and caught the ball in his hands with the defender right there. Not an easy play at all.

That's just a psychological effect. There's really no more value there than any other year.

That would explain us bringing in a TE on a pre-draft visit.

My first thought when I heard this news... my second was we really didn't get much of a return for Ayodele and Fasano, I would have thought the two combined would fetch at least Miami's high third round pick...

Ah well, Ayodele's expendable, but replacing Fasano might prove to be problematic... as it stands, we've got Witten, Curtis and Hannah...

I don't care about Fasano (I like Curtis) or Ayodele getting traded but only get one pick for TWO players...Come on.

Fasano was a 2nd round pick and Ayodele was our starter and you can't get at least one pick for each?

Color me unimpressed with this trade.

I would disagree with you as well.

I thought Curtis did a tremendous job of blocking last year.

You need to go back and rewatch any games you have available. Curtis was rarely even asked to block. When he got snaps, he was asked to be a receiving threat far moreso than a blocker. There is a reason he didn't get as many snaps as Fasano. Fasano was a solid blocker last year. He wasn't so much his rookie year, when he was still being asked to learn how to block form the H-back role, but he improved last year. He had his whiffs, but most young guys do.

People are loving this Curtis, and that's ok, but I question if they're basing it on actual play, or if it has to do with dislike for Fasano, his basketball backround, etc. He' wasn't as good of a TE as Fasano last year, but it doesn't mean he can't be this year.

And he also made the most of every opportunity he had.

Which is more than I can say for Fasano.

I would almost go as far to say that Romo won't miss him.

It seemed he purposely didn't look for Fasano anyway.

This, I can agree with. I wouldn't be looking for Fasano either if I had Owens, Glenn/Crayton, and Witten.

We are dealing with human beings, and as you said, psychology comes into play. So in fact, there is an argument for it possibly having more value, in the end.

I just clicked on my refresh icon and it said

"Dude, Give me a break I am exhausted"

Nooo not Fasano :(

That means one less player on our team that shares my first name. at least I still have Henry,Spencer and Romo.

I miss Anthony Thomas. :D

Well it would be nice if they could replace Fasano with Dustin Keller but he will be long gone before Dallas has a chance to pick him.

They did bring in Martellus Bennett and Fred Davis for private visits... maybe one of them will be the pick at 100 (both are currently projected to go in the late 3rd/early 4th round range)...

Insane trade. Might as well just give them away for free.

Im the most pissed that we are giving Parcells back his wasted second round pick. Any other team, I wouldnt mind.
