you mean like you assuming the worst case scenario in draft picks but leaving out to get that pacman behaved and became value for us which is a best case for our side?

I'm not assuming anything, I'm going by exactly what's happened.

I was among the people who thought we gave up too much for a player the Titans were going to cut anyway, the only thing that saved that trade from being completely boneheaded is the clauses we put in place.

Well, you're trading the 4th round to move up from 126 to 100. That 4th round is the 126.

... isn't that what I said? I guess I should have said swapped fourths, gave Akin and a pick next year? We certainly didn't gain a pick, if looking at it the way he stated it.

so you're gonna see the worst of the moves cause you want to.

i'll move on now. i could talk paint off a wall before getting meaningful convo here.

I'm curious what the reaction is on Miami message boards.

Anyone else think their fans are screaming, "Why did we just give up pick No. 100 for a backup tight end and an average 30-year-old LB?"

Haha, I love that because I'm critical of the trade, it's not meaningful. Please grow up.

I'm not assuming the worst of anything, the trades are what they are. I don't give ANY drafted player (or rather, soon to be drafted player) the benefit of the doubt till I see them on an NFL field. Even the 1st round picks, so why would I assume we're going to get some all star with the 4th rounder?

I choose not to make assumptions, that's all. It's not like I'm saying we're doomed for making these deals.

To some people , all our trades are stupid, while other teams trades are brilliant.

This is my concern as well. I figured we'd be parting ways with Fasano next year but I guess the brain trust thinks we can live without him this season. I'm in wait and see mode at this point.

wow where is Jimmy Johnson when u need him... Cowboy fans in the 90s never had to justify a trade!

When Jimmy made the trade 4 Highsmith noone tried to package it with the Steve Walsh deal!

Jerry got the best of that deal!!!

I wonder if we can trade Kyle Kosier and BoCarp for another Phins pick!!

From what I've seen at finheaven.com, Dolphins fans are very happy with the trade. They think both players will be starters for them next year. I think it was probably a good trade for both teams and both players honestly. I would have liked to get another late round pick, but I love having 5 of the top 100 picks.

Which two lost starting jobs last season?

The fact of the matter is we gave them three starters for a swap of 6th round picks and a 4th round pick. There's no avoiding it.

Ferguson lost his job - that's why we got rid of him. NOT NEEDED ANYMORE.

Akin lost his job to Thomas. NOT NEEDED ANYMORE.

Fasano wasn't a starter.

What they will be in Miami is irrelevant. They are going to a 1-15 team. Big freaking whoop they are "starters" there - They will start there because Miami sucks donkey. Not because they are great quality players.

Some of y'all need to wake up. These player have little value to anyone not named Bill Parcells. A 4 and a 6 -- actually a swap of 6ths and a 6 next year to be accurate -- is good value for players that otherwise would be cut or contributing mainly on ST for us.

Yes.

But of course, with how Fasano would play in a starting TE role, people would be throwing a hissy fit over why we ever selected him.

So you pick your poison really.

I agree on Ferguson. He's a backup if he were to have returned this season.

As to some earlier posts about us being in trouble if Witten goes down, I still maintain this: wouldn't we be in trouble if Witten went down even if we had Fasano? He was a solid player, but never looked like an All-Pro in the making. Granted, he might fill the role better than Curtis, but either backup plan would likely leave us pulling out our hair.

It's like if we lose Romo. I don't care who's his backup, we're screwed at that position. Same goes for TO, Ware and countless others.

"Antny" is going home to Duane... the only guy on this Earth who thought drafting him in the second round was a good idea.

Akin who? How did this guy keep anyone off the field let alone a first round pick like Carpenter... oh, nevermind.

Really??? Fasano was a great player in the making, he just didnt get any burn because of Witten, he had nice hands and played his"blocking role" very well. He will be a good one next year. I dont understand this part???:

I believe that is a good pick and it will help us, but I do think we lost some talent tonight as well.

I believe Tony Curtis is better than Fasano.... It just makes that pick back in 2005 look that much more stupid!
