Why do you want a guy who puts himself in such a situation?

He's lost millions of dollars because he put himself there.

So you want a dumb guy who doesn't fit cover two and may end up in jail.

You say dumb stuff.

Let's start with the fact you called him a rapist and at this point, that's not necessarily true.

Two, sometimes people make dumb decisions. Doesn't mean that guy or gal is then going to make dumb decisions for the rest of his life. It could just be a one time screw up. Using your logic, we should probably cut Ezekiel Elliott. Why would we want someone dumb enough to put himself in the situation he did?

Three, if the Cowboys take him, they won't be doing it for poops and giggles. If they take him, they will likely have very solid information leading towards the belief that he did not commit what he was accused of.

Geez, if I was going to be a top draft pic I think I'd be celibate for a few months versus scorning some girl who thought she was going to marry a future millionaire.

wish they would've kept it quiet and grabbed him.
I personally think it's a smoke screen. The Cowboys are looking at someone else and trying to drum up support for another team taking Conley in the second.

I don't think it's wise to invest in him that high. With that second pick it looks ideal. With that first though I think there could be better options and safer ones but it depends on if guys fall.

FWIW, from the Eagles writer at NJ.com............ there are teams believe Conley is innocent but there is always the possibility that they missed something or that law enforcement tries to push this and somehow get a conviction so can you use a first round pick on him?

Well, the Cowboys are doing their due diligent. But no one knows what they're going to do. And Brandt is no longer an insider.

I'm not disputing what you say, but I have a hard time believing that with the secrecy that envelopes this process that teams - even anonymously - are telling reporters who they're picking.
What generally happens is when reporters talk to teams, the good ones or the close ones get "ball park" information. Then they call other teams and ask them who a particular team is looking at. Then they talk to the agents. Then they look at the list of players who've come in for interviews. And they put the information all together and form an opinion, i.e., we've talked to sources who say the Cowboys are interested player X.

That's how it's done. Those close to the process will not tell a reporter who is going to be picked. That's like presidential confidential information.

Yeah good advice.

Just like how Smith's knee would never get better, right?
I admitted I was wrong about Smith yesterday. Catch up, dude. And I could be wrong about Conley. But until I get new information, this is my opinion. Dude is being investigated for rape.

But here's the problem. You aren't investigating Conley and it doesn't matter what information you receive.

If the Cowboys draft him, say in the 2nd round, you can assume they have more than enough information at their disposal to think he's going to be let off here. The Cowboys aren't going to just draft him blindly and keep their fingers crossed that they get lucky here.
