I don't blame officials for losing.
Sorry.
The teams I cheer for are MORE than capable of finding creative ways to lose all on their own....

Wade is going to do some awesome things tonite as Miami wins their first championship.
Its going to be tough; but hey, there is always next year.
peplaw06 said:You are so full of crap. Every team has experienced unfair calls on the account of referees. It's just a matter of what happend to be good for you at the moment. If it's good for your team that the refs blew the call(s), then you say "I NEVER blame refs... and anyone who does is a crybaby."
Then when it's bad for your team you do the same thing. Why do you think Instant Replay is so big now??
peplaw06 said:I guess we'll see. You better stick around, and as TO would say, "Get your popcorn ready." The Mavs are at home.
peplaw06 said:Speaking of full of crap... Haven't I toasted your *** in arguments before?? You should know better by now boy...
So when they get calls wrong, you just accept it and move on?? rrrright... And I didn't say I had proof you've said anything blaming refs. I just don't believe that you have NEVER blamed a referee for anything. I suppose if the Mavs shoot twice as many free throws over the last two games of this series, and win it in 7, you will have nothing to say...Vintage said:I never said that refs don't get the calls wrong. They do. Point to me and SHOW ME WHERE I SAID THAT???? Please, enlighten me on that. I really am curious.
I said I don't blame refs for losses. In every game I have watched during this series, each team has fumbled away countless possessions. Each of those possession would have had a far more significant impact on the game than a bad call here or there. That is why I refuse to blame the refs for any loss, even if there are bad calls against my team. Because I know, during the course of the game, we probably wasted a dozen or so opportunities.
I think the NBA would admit it. They've admitted gaffes in the past. Maybe none of this magnitude (meaning NBA finals). I'd have to check to see.peplaw06 said:Even if the NBA had better technology, would they come out and admit they were wrong if his foot had tapped?? In real time it's hard to tell, and it was a close call, but they wouldn't come out and say the refs blew it and cost the Mavs the game, even if it was indisputable evidence.

You're ********, you've been on the board about 3 months. I don't know your whole history.

But honestly, I'm hard pressed to blame one close call as the reason the Mavs lost. You've got 48 mins in regulation to impose your will on a team. Letting it go to OT and losing in the final seconds cannot be all the officials fault.
I will say this, when the talk days later is still about officials and not the players, that's not good. Probably because Game 4 was so physical, the refs for Game 5, saw the film, and figured they would call it tighter. I only saw the first half, so I can't say for sure if they weren't consistent from half-to-half.
The problem is that the intensity has gone up each game, so everything is magnified now, every push, every foot shuffle, every palm. And if it's not called, then folks are howling.
The only things fans and players should hope for is consistency.
Vintage said:The refs weren't responsible for Wade shooting 38/77 the last three games and scoring 121 points during that REIGN.
peplaw06 said:I agree the refs weren't responsible for him shooting 38/77... less than 50% by the way.... But how can you say they weren't at least partly responsible for him scoring 121?? He shot 18 FT in game 3, 9 in game 4, and an NBA record 25 in game 5.
peplaw06 said:What's your point?? I'm talking about one game, not an entire series... Over the course of the series, the best team usually wins. It's ridiculous to say one team wasn't good enough when the margin was one point, and one team made two free throws with 1.9 seconds left to go up by that margin. To say Dallas wasn't good enough is ludicrous.
Vintage said:Below 50%? For a guard? No way....
Most guards do. MJ's career FG% is below 50%.
Bryant, McGrady, LeBron all shot below 50% on the year. In fact, in the top 50 scorers during the regular season, only ONE GUARD shot above 50%. Steve Nash.
Wade was 2nd best.
