Shame we couldn’t have kept both. Best backup we’ve had in years . But I suppose we need to always be developing a young gun. Let’s hope Dak is fully recovered and no more injuries incur .

Gilbert was better than Dalton. If Cowboys dont resign him they are dopes.

We could just throw in total year 1 values, 10 mil vs 75 mil

Edit: yes im aware its not completely fair, just a different perspective

What's the point of Dak for $40M if Dallas does nothing to fix the defense or help the offensive line??????

Dak was 31 million last season and will only count 22 million THIS season. Still waiting for his salary to destroy the Cowboys.

A top 8 QB aged 27 at 40 million (22.2 mil on the cap) or a below-average veteran aged 33 for 10 million?

With our FO, the savings might end up getting us an extra blue-light special FA, maybe a 35-year-old backup punter coming off an Achilles tear.

Hmmm, tough choice...

So you are saying you don;t approve of Cowboys decision making...unless it happens to line up with your opinion?

It all falls on our dysfunctional organization . Priorities are offensively. Jethro must still believe the Triplets won those rings .

It also fits his mantra of maintaining “ interesting and relevant “ which he can promote his record revenue.

Sell, sell sell

Help the Oline? Are you aware that Collins, Smith and Martin are all coming back this year? Did you watch McGovern play last year? Biadasz?

What makes you think they arent improving the defense?

Did you miss the draft last year where they took Diggs and Gallimore? Did you see them fire Nolan and hire Quinn? Did you watch the safety Wilson develop?

The Cowboys defense is where it is, not because Jerry has failed to address the defense, but because he has failed when trying to draft defense. Although surely drafting punks like Zeke at RB over Ramsey was a failure to properly address the defense.

Yep.. He’s failed on defense because of bust in 1st round and 2nd round risk who didn’t pan out or able to stay on the field .

Drafting Zeke was an over reaction to the effects of losing Murray.

Yep...........and its because he listened to Merinelli. At least thats where I lay blame for most of these defensive drafting issues. Hill and Taco we can definitely blame directly on M.

So you are basing your hopes on 3 starting o-linemen that missed a combined 36 games last season with Smith missing an average of 3 games/season the last 4 years......2 2nd year players.....a new DC.....and a developing safety......while ignoring the historically bad defense in its entirety and an aging o-line coming back from injuries charged with protecting a QB coming off a major ankle injury.

Good luck with that.

In the end it’s our GM responsibility regardless where his influence comes from. We can’t be certain but it’s likely McClay had a hand in it as well who often receives credit for good finds but not the bad ones.
