So you are basing your hopes on 3 starting o-linemen that missed a combined 36 games last season with Smith missing an average of 3 games/season the last 4 years......2 2nd year players.....a new DC.....and a developing safety......while ignoring the historically bad defense in its entirety and an aging o-line coming back from injuries charged with protecting a QB coming off a major ankle injury.

Good luck with that.

Dalton 4-5 .444 Win %

So Dalton won twice as many games last season than Dak and had a higher Win %. I hate it when facts get in the way of people's obvious bias statements.

In fairness, it isn't just the money and the ability of the player to perform in 2021 that factors in. Dalton signed a 1 year deal - not even the Bears consider him more than a 1 year stop gap. The idea with Dak was not to be a 1 year stop gap.

you know those last 4 games were against teams with 4 wins (or less at the time), 3 of them against their back up QBs, and his last game against a starting QB and a 5 win team at the time....he needed 9 turnovers from the defense, defgense scoring and a special teams TD to win 3 of those games...... against average or good teams, he laid an ostrich sized egg....
