We've got 28 years of consistent hindsight. We've missed out on many obvious moves and everything we have done has been wrong. Everything we've done so far this off season has been the wrong move. I'm quite certain year 29 will be like all the others. The bad omens are in your face loud and clear already.

not every thing has been wrong, jones boys and their coaches do some things right.

The problem is there is always the things they do wrong which results in a team like we had last year.
12-5 and one and done, great stats for players and team as a whole, but lacking key elements that result in poor playoff performance.

The playoff early exits are not just dak, it is a bunch of things that lose those games, and that is on the HC down.
Also the jones boys are to blame because they just ignore certain areas/issues , and they supply the players.

They are slow to change coaches or players.Like Gregory they kept him for years, then he leaves for denver when he is playing ok.
Jaylon Smith, was a disaster , waste of a pick, both guys were. Kept JG way too long. and now have kept mike too long.

Look at Wash with Quinn, they are assembling a good group of coaches, not friends of Dan. Remember MM and his first DC was a disaster lol.(was a friend of MM)
It is always something with cowboys, and all the somethings keep them from reaching that next level.

Jerry needs to trade Trey Lance and try to get at least a 3rd or 4th round pick. Cowboys need mid-round draft picks badly. Dak needs to give the team a discount. He already received his big pay 3 years ago. Everything (holes to be filled, plus salary cap space) is catching up to the Cowboys.

They have 7 picks. they can make moves to get a few more

So he "coached" Cmac this year and that's why he was #1 after sucking for the prior 4 years.

Lynn is overrated...product of the 49er system and rode the coattails of CMac...look at his years prior to SF, and you are brought down to Earth. Dallas needs more a OL coach than anything a RB coach could do. Have a great line and blocking schemes and the backs will be more successful. So not really major IMHO.

I think Dan will field a competitive team next year, wash was sort of good at times the last 2 years, but with Dan and new staff,
high picks in draft, maybe they get a good QB, they will be in the mix to win the east.
Dan had a good team in Atlanta, got to a SB then had the disaster 2nd half and lost a game they should have won, but at least they got there.
And it was BB and brady that beat them.
That atlanta team was better than any recent cowboys team .

I dont know what phil will be like next year lol, but giants will be at bottom and wash could move up over the eagles, and div winner will be
either Dallas or wash, but keep in mind every year the div winner is different team, so that sort of means dallas wont be the winner again
in 24? That leaves Wash and Phil
I like the changes in wash, new owner, new HC, HC being Dan, make wash a interesting opponent instead of a crappy team to beat up on.

We're all aware how much the Cowboys run game struggled in 2023. Lynn would have been worth a long look to work out the kinks. Improved offensive line play and a more balanced group of RBs (and having a healthy starter for a full season) would help the cause but at some point it comes down to scheme and play design.

Lynn would have moved mountains in that regard. A McKinney, Texas native, we can't help but wonder if Lynn relished the thought of returning home to coach the Cowboys. Alas, Dallas will face him twice a year in Washington next season.
