Dan Quinn or Sean Payton?

If Mike McCarthy is fired after this season, would you rather bring in Sean Payton or promote Dan Quinn to head coach?

DQ has totally transformed the Cowboys Defense so much so that regardless of how this season ends for the Cowboys, he's gonna be head coach somewhere. Part of me would rather it be here, even at the potential expense of potentially bringing in Sean Payton.

Thoughts?

I'd rather keep Quinn. He has transformed this defense more than any coach in recent history. It's not the first time either. He was well accomplished in Seattle with the Legion of Boom. As much as I would like to see what Payton could do with the offense, losing Quinns defensive presence could set us back massively. Of course, him coaching from the sidelines could as well. That's the gamble.

Why fire a coach that went 4-1 with a backup QB?
I have no problem with MM staying on as HC, but IMO the most pressing issue is keeping Dan Quinn, as DC or HC, whatever it takes. Don't let Dan Quinn get away! Pay him whatever it takes to keep him! Next order of business.....keep KM OFF the HC list!

At this stage there’s probably a greater chance Biden wins an IQ competition vs a hundred Mensa members than McCarthy getting fired! I’d rather have Moore or hell even Garrett back rather than Payton. Don’t get the strange obsession with this mass underachiever of a coach???
I agree about MM. Totally.
But I could definitely do without KM and Garrett. Yikes.

Quinn.
I doubt Sean Payton is coming here.
For one, Payton will likely want to call offensive plays, and I doubt Jerry wants to part with Boy Wonder.
I think Quinn wouldn't mind having Kellen Moore stay for the ride.
For two, Payton will want to be the spokesman for his team, and Jerry wants to have the final say.
I think the only thing that saves McCarthy's job is an NFC Championship appearance.
I can see Jerry feigning being so mad coming up short that - at the risk of missing out on either Quinn or Payton - he fires McCarthy.

Jerry doesn't always get what he wants and Payton will cost him more than money. Also, I didn't say nobody wants to go to Dallas, I just don't think Payton will.

You couldn't name a single incident of Jerry not getting a coach he wanted.

Pay Quinn whatever it takes to be DC. Keep McCarthy and fire Moore, and bring in Kingsbury as OC since I think his Arizona days are gone, but he could be a good OC without the head coaching duties.

Though I think if Kingsbury is fired, he will go back to coaching at the college level.

If I have to choose I am taking Quinn. Quinn has been to a SB and if not for a dumb OC (who has done this twice now) chose to run the ball would be a SB winning HC. Also I don't think he had a lot of say in personnel decisions in ATL. Seems like he likes beef in the middle so sign me up for that.
You do realize Payton won a Super Bowl right?

One Super Bowl appearance in 15 seasons with Drew Brees as his QB. He’s Jason Garrett minus the ginger mop!

So, basically the same as McCarthy with Rodgers as many others here try to say.
Although I doubt Payton would have signed off on Moore, or hired Nolan as his DC.

Eh, Green Bay wasn’t nearly as active in FA as New Orleans and Payton’s drafting was hit and miss especially in early rounds! And I’m not saying I was really all that impressed with the McCarthy hiring process. I just don’t see Payton as being the coaching genus many here ascribe to him, but then I’m in Louisiana and I’m much more exposed to his critics both local media and fans!

Fair enough bro. I just was and continue to be not the biggest McCarthy guy as I do not believe he has much actual offensive involvement as his past says he should. I believe he should kick Moore the hell outta the way if the offense struggles regardless of Papa Jerry's rule of not to touch Kellen's offense. He's the HC.
I just don't think Payton would sign on for that kinda crap. But ya never know with money.
McCarthy sold out his coaching integrity to Jerry's ways. Payton's only human I guess.

I don't think there's all that much difference between the two. MM might be better.

Payton costs draft compensation. Quinn has already shown and proved here. easy decision imo
